grunge music reference in "The Wrestler" (semi pj releated)

I saw the movie "The Wrestler" a while back (and if u haven't seen it I HIGHLY recommend it), but anyways, in the movie they mention 80s hair metal and how "that pussy cobain" turned the music scene into something very depressing and how the bands in the 80s were all about having fun.
I love the 90s and grunge music very much but i have to agree with what was mentioned in this movie. Some of the 80s hair metal songs were SO MUCH FUN and i kinda wish there were more "fun" grunge songs (now i realize that may be an oxymoron lol). But i kinda miss how fun and ridiculous the songs of the 80s were. In 2004, a band called The Darkness had the single "I believe in a thing called love" and it definitely sounds like something straight out of 1985; VERY FUN STUFF.

The point of Mickey Rourke's character saying the Cobain line was because his character Randy the Ram's glory days in wrestling were the 80's so he is basically stuck there and hates anything that came after it.
