I'm flying out tomorrow for work to the following places:
Amsterdam September 12-14
Manchester September 15-16
Stockholm September 17-18
Madrid September 19-21
Milan September 22
Paris September 23
Stuttgart September 24-25
Frankfurt September 25 (evening)
Fly back to Portland on September 26 for Pearl Jam
Any ideas? Suggestions?
I'll be working during the day, except weekends, but have evenings free. I thought I'd poll fellow Pearl Jam fans.
Post here or PM.
Thanks!
J

I would invite you round for coffee but I live 100 miles away.
I'm in Mansfield the first day and Manchester the next. What to do?
Seriously, the only places I know in Manchester are gig venues and no-one decent is playing! There's a bar called the Kro-bar which is opposite the Manchester Academy venues which is pretty cool.

If you're looking to buy a guide book for travel in Europe, then in my experience the best guide book is 'The Rough Guide'. I've tried all of them - Lonely Planet, DK Eyewitness Travel, Discovery Insight Guide - and the Rough guide is the best one.
All I'll say about Paris is, check out the bookshop 'Shakespeare & Co' on the left bank - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shakespear ... ookshop%29 - It's a nice little area a stone's throw from the Notre Dame Cathedral.
You hiring?
Have Fun!
Are you flying to all these places? I expect that you may have time for a jaunt in the area around your hotel whilst looking for places to eat. There may be some touristy things to do, but I found that a lot of shops and stuff close fairly early i.e. between 5:00 and 7:00. You may get in a great deal of window shopping, but not too much more.
Having said that, the Torture Museum in Amsterdam was cool (http://www.amsterdam.info/museums/torture-museum/) and it's open late. There are over 30 museums in Amsterdam, so lots of choice. I also enjoyed just walking around the city. The Vondelpark was beautiful. You can also take a canal tour and of course wander around the Red Light District.
Have fun
I would have it imported specially for you, I would drink earl grey, in a china cup, with my pinky stuck out!
Do use the toilets - it's better than doing it on the floor!
I've been working mad hours so not a ton of time. I did squeeze some tourist type things in Amsterdam. I took a canal tour (pretty cheap actuall) and saw the Anne Frank house. I think it was 8.50 euro but worth it.
I went to the Van Gogh museum. It's amazing how unpopular that guy was alive and now his estate is worth millions. Rather, his brothers family but rightfully so. After all, his brother took care of him and paid his way.
Saw some sights, Rembrandts house, ate some decent food...
Red lights. I saw a few, from the outside. Reefer. I had a few beers instead. I did use a few toilets. No problems as of yet.
Today I drove from Manchester to Mansfield and saw some of the countryside. Tomorrow into the city.
