I don't see a sellout here

At first, I was disturbed by the Target deal but now I am seeing it another way.

They have a bubblegum pop song all over the radio yet the CD will be released to very few stores and internet providers. It's kind of ironic that they put out their most pop sounding song and then restrict the retail outlets.

But, must say I will reserve judgement until I see the commercial. If there is a good deal of Target tie in it might be bothersome......

maybe there will be a commercial tonight during the kickoff of the nfl season. do we know when they are going to start airing? you would think pretty soon
  • Bubble-gum pop?

Anyways, I think it has been proven by the very astute observations of the ever so intelligent fans of this band that Pearl Jam has indeed sold out. So, no need to wait and see, PJ is not who we thought they were.

Charities, you say? Who gives a shit about those lefty org's they support, I don't want to give them money.

Fan conscious decisions? Please, PJ could give two shits about us. I mean they put some of us up in the nose bleed seats in Chicago. Clearly they don't care.

Thought provoking and varying music from album to album? I prefer the Muse catalogue or Gaslight Anthem. Tell me when PJ reaches that level.

Target deal? I haven't really thought about their motives or really listened to their response to why they did it. I don't have to; Target deal makes pearl jam a bunch of corporate whores.

Just face it you bunch of retards!!! Pearl Jam is not the band they were in 1992!!!

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I'd guess 2-3 days before the album comes out. This seems almost too early to me - I could be wrong of course.
  • Pearl Jam is just doing what it needs to do to make money, this is a business, nothing is free.

PJ needs to woody about it's employees and thier families.

If they need to take target's money, so be it.

And those of u that think 1992's act wasn't motivated by selling records (being anti-corporate was cool in the days bands made money on records before people stealing music) is just naive.

I don't blame PJ, they need to make as much as possible while they still can.

Music is a business, get over it.

Actually I think them releasing their most "commercial" and "pop" sounding song on the heels of releasing an album in a manor which they receive the biggest chunk of money per CD sold isn't ironic. It's financially savvy, designed to bring in the biggest dollars.
