9/18 release in Australia (I have a question)

Is it possible that Backspacer, since Australia will get it two days before us in the U.S., will get leaked that way?

    Not just Australia, but in Ireland too. We always have albums on the Friday before US.

    if it makes it that long and it is officially released there...i'm not sure that qualifies as a leak.

    Right. It's more of a preview for the US market at that time.

    The street date here is on a Sunday (i.e.: Guns 'N' Roses - "Chinese Democracy"), so Indie stores will likely have it arriving on 9/17 or 9/18 and I would expect Ten Club orders will start showing up around then as well. Will Target be open at midnight Saturday night like some of the Best Buy stores were for the G 'N' R release? Could be likely.

    If stores open at 9AM and Australia will have it on the 18th. Then the absolute latest we will have it in NA will be September 17th at 7PM EST when you take into account the time difference.

    The proper release date is Monday, the 21st in Ireland, the UK and the rest of Europe. Stores will probably receive it on Friday, but they're not supposed to sell it. The same goes for a lot of Indie stores in the US-particularly the ones who do mail orders. They receive the product early so they can ship it out to be received by the customer on the street date. With the street date being a Sunday here it means they will have to have copies in time for people to receive them on Saturday since there are no Sunday deliveries. They would likely have it by the 17th. Some of them will also sell it early to certain select customers. ;)

    I'm guessing that 10c preorders will ship a little early and USA 10c people will get it on or around the 18th as well.
