10/31/09 - What's in Store?

This question goes out to some of the more seasoned PJ vets. Has PJ ever played the "last" show in a major venue before? What have former halloween shows been like? Are we setting the stage for an epic performance?

Again, I restate the questions:
1. Has PJ ever played the last show in a major arena? (this show is slated to be the last performance in the Spectrum before it is demolished)
2. How many times has PJ played on Halloween night? And have they done anything "special" on those occasions?

3. Since this is the last show of a 4-show series, on Halloween night, and the last show of any kind EVER in the Spectrum, does anyone have any thoughts of what might be in store.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the shows in LA will be the first time Pearl Jam has played a 4 night series of shows...I guess anything is in store. As a big Bruce Springsteen fan, I've been to shows where I was able to witness 2 out of a 15 night series, and the shows I saw were spectacular. It's in the air. Looking back at the Spectrum show down the line, people will have arguments over which show was their favorite, and everyone will have their own opinion. All I know is it's Pearl Jam and no matter what EVERYONE will go home satisfied.

My fear is that there will be nothing left of the Spectrum by the time YL closes out the night - it'll be a Philly crowd after all, and if you've ever seen how badly a Philly crowd trashes a parking lot - let alone a venue that's scheduled for demolition - you'd get my drift. Screw posters, anybody want a row of seats for their living room wall??? I just hope the crowd stays civil or 10/31 could be memorable for all the wrong reasons.
I smile, but who am I kidding...

Yeah. Let's keep the teargas out of Philly on the 31st.
