Anyone know if there are going to be different versions of Backspacer LP?
In Goods section it is not stated if there is one or two LPs in the package. On couple of swedish webshops it states that Backspacer contains two LPs.

36 mins and 33 second album is 1 LP...........
  • I think 1 album.

Which is good, because I hate 2 LP sets.

ditto too much getting up.. its the only down fall on vinyl
    Tour with fucking NOFX
  • R.E.M.'s "Accelerate" was even shorter and they did 2 LPs, so I think while it's physically possible to do it on 1 LP the band could still opt to go the 2 LP route. Makes no sense production-cost wise if you ask me, as well as flipping after eight or nine minutes of music.

the double LP thing is so annoying on beck's "sea change"... its one thing on a rock album but when im in a nice mellow mood its fuckin annoying to have to switch every 3 songs

1 LP please! screw the collectibility of the double!

which reminds me... i oughta order my LP version while i have a little spending money...

Just so people know, Accelerate was pressed at 45RPM, thus requiring 2LPs. If it would have been at 33RPM, then it surely would have been one LP.

So, if Backspacer proves to be 2LP, it'll probably be pressed at 45RPM, too. Jazz records were (are?) often pressed at 45RPM for sonic quality issues. I don't think it's that important for a rock record like Accelerate or Backspacer to get this sort of treatment, but... who knows, maybe sonic differences would be apparent on songs like The End.

My money's on 1 LP for such a short record. Hopefully the 28 page booklet is packed with good artwork.
