We all wanna hear Backspacer right?

BUT

You really gotta give credit to the 10C and all those involved in the making/distribution of this album due to the fact that it has not leaked!

We are 11 days out, and no leak...THATS IMPRESSIVE!

Never has a PJ album made it this close to release without being everywhere on the web

    So, I'm sure this makes me an asshole, but I've got four songs off the album. Is that not a leak? Or are we talking about the entire album?

    PS- I pre-ordered from 10c so they'll get my $$.

    But i must add.........How am i gonna sing along with the new tunes in Seattle? Oh i'll be slamming down my cash at Easy Street the day of release........ (Whispers) but it would have been really cool to know the lyrics and sing along at the first post-album shows :P

    But seriously...... i'm impressed there has not been a leak !

    Well, depending on which songs, it is a leak.
    Songs available through legitimate channels:
    The Fixer & Supersonic - The Fixer single
    Got Some (live) - recording of Conan O'Brien appearance or any bootleg (since we don't know for a fact the shows these have been played at will have bootlegs, I think that means for the time being, trading is okay)
    The End - Shepherd's Bush
    Speed of Sound (demo) - Backspacer cover scavenger hunt
    Not legitimate channels (EV solo shows):

    The lack of a leak is VERY IMPRESSIVE.

    Looks like the first spin of the album for me will be in my Seattle hotel room on Sunday. And I am fine with that. Have to at least know the songs before I hear them live :)

    I'm glad the release is more than a month before the Spectrum shows. It will give me a chance to just relax and listen before the shows to know the songs. The poor fans is Seattle, it's going to be like cramming for a test. Can't wait to hear it. :)

    I wonder if other bands and their management are paying attention and will be inquiring about how this was accomplished. If I had to guess, this is mainly due to the fact that tons of middle men have been cut out from the normal process. But it is pretty impressive. I have read stuff recently about Jay Z pushing his upcoming album up because of a leak, and Carrie Underwood pusing a single up because of a leak from an album not supposed to come out until November. A week and a half away and no leak, takes me back to the Pre-Napster days!

    its impressive but its not like PJ is the only band to have this happen. The new Monsters of Folk album hasnt leaked yet and its being released on the same week as backspacer. The new Muse album just leaked 6 days before the release and I remember the KOL album leaking only about a week before. It seems like most artists are doing a better job than in years past.

    hey. i've never heard of the new monsters of folk... are they good? i know its hard to compare bands to somebody but can you give it a shot?

    Aren't you the one who's be alluding all this time you've heard the entire album? Isn't that a leak technically? You've been talking about it for almost a month. :?

    Is it just a coincidence that the first PJ album not to leak for a long, long, long time, is the first fully self released PJ album.

    Could it be that an insider was usually responsibnle for the previous leaks, perhaps as a way to stick it Sony.

    Now they don't have that excuse...and we have no leak?

    How is the End at SBE legitimate unless you heard it live there? There hasn't been a release of the show, so technically that is still cheating!

    They've played hardly anything from the album at all the previous shows, The Fixer, Got Some and one other at most shows.

    I guess you'll just have to get spinning that record as much as possible if you wanna knwo some lyrics.

    and there's been audience recording, which are allowed, so it's not cheating.

    I was happy to listen to S/T on loop the week before the Astoria though :P..but that was 3 weeks before release date.
    since it's only 10 days away, I've now decided to wait even if it leaks before (it will the minutes retailers get it.. so any second now)... just hoping the midnight party in west seattle last till a bit in the night 'cos I won't make it before half past-1am..

    going to have about 40 hours to listen to it.. it's only 36mn.. PLENTY of time to learn it ;)

    I know there is a boot, I just didn't know that they are 'allowed' ;)

    I love the memories that boot brings, and the O2 one!... but i haven't listened to either The End or Supersonic on them, I even deleted them from iTunes, because I'm saving it for the album release.

    audio taping is allowed... releasing said tapes is more of a grey area apparently :roll:
