'Crazy Mary' at Palladium, 1992?

Hi,

I was looking for the first time Pearl Jam played 'Crazy Mary'. According to the great database at this website, it was Wed May 13, 1992 at the Palladium in Hollywood, California.

But listening to that song, it appears to be 'Crazy' of Seal.

According to the TFT Concert Chronology, Crazy is the intro to Porch with this note: 'Crazy' is a Seal song, but the lyrics are sung to the melody from 'The Part Where I Play the Pope.

There's no mention of Crazy Mary.

I noticed that Crazy is on the setlist of 05/07/92 - Gallitan Fairgrounds: Bozeman, MT too.

To my knowledge, the fact that Pearl Jam covered ‘Crazy Mary’ had to do with the disease Victoria Williams was confronted with in 1993, meaning that 1992 is too early in any case.

But 10c writes: "Pearl Jam performed Crazy Mary at the show. The song was written by Victoria Williams prior to Pearl Jam covering it on Sweet Relief. The recording may not have been released yet, however the band had already been playing it and likely had already recorded their cover of it by then".

So when was Crazy Mary played for the first time?

According to the PJ Stattracker app the first time it was played was Sept. 6, 1993 in Portland OR.

I dig how it was 6 years ago that you first asked that question. I dont know the answer but I saw many shows at the Palladium. Wish I had seen that show!
