Anyone ever sell something on e-bay and not get paid ?

I contacted the buyer through the invoice e-mail the auction ended on Sep 3rd and I haven't even got an e-mail back

Should I just re-sell it ?

This is the first time I've gotten stiffed for something when I was the seller :?

Just give him a negative mark and re-post it.

Edit: Though on second thoughts, don't buyers get 7 days in which to pay for an item. He's only had 5 or 6 by my calculations - depending on what country you're in.

Yeah..I didn't want to be a dick by leaving negative feedback

    BUT

    I don't think I have choice..the buyer has 100% feedback...kinda weird how they didn't pay

  • I bought something from a member on here, paid them and they have yet to send the merchandise! It's been over a month now and of course, I am getting no response... and I am pissed.

I've never had any problem with e-bay and I've bought over 200 items - mostly books. I've sold about 20 items too, and no probs. But it's only expected that someone will try and shaft you once in a while - that's life.

Just an FYI: sellers are no longer allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers.
I wish I was as fortunate, as fortunate as me.

I sell on ebay all the time. It is frustrating and annoying when they don't pay in a timely manner. Just wait one more day and then go to the resolution section and open up a dispute. That sometimes makes the person contact you to resolve the situation.

    Good luck.
  • Welcome to eBay! I've sold over 500 items in the past year and a half. Unfortunately, the buyers have all of the power. Sellers are completely at their mercy. All buyers now have 100% positive feedback because it is impossible to leave negative feedback for a buyer. Once I was angry at a non-payer, so I left the green plus sign for him but typed "NEGATIVE!" in the description. That was useless because no one looks at the feedback descriptions when the person has that giant "100% Positive" next to his username. And it was worse than useless: After winning an unpaid item dispute, eBay pays back the Final Value Fee that they charge, unless I leave positive feedback! Oops.

Hurry and open the Unpaid Item Dispute as soon as possible. I'm not sure if eBay has started allowing this on the fourth day yet, that's a new improvement they are adding. Otherwise, it is possible after 7 full days have passed. It takes another week after you file for the dispute to be closed. Then you can get your Final Value Fee back. What you never get back is the Insertion Fee for listing the item in the first place. If it's a traditional auction format, you can re-list. eBay will refund the second listing only if it sells again. So if you have a non-payer the first time, and no bids the second time, you are stuck paying the Insertion Fee twice! eBay wins every time.

I can never tell which items will go unpaid. Over the winter, I had four non-paying winners in two weeks for little toys that sold for just 99 cents to $2. What the huh?

Have you taken advantage of the new perk? Five free listings every month! Damn, that's a great feature for actually being to afford putting a high starting price on an item. No risk!

  • Yeah, I'm actually dealing with this right now. How ironic!

I sold something and haven't gotten so much as a response, let alone a payment. It's been 7 days since the auction, so I officially "opened a case" in the resolution center. Basically, they will contact them and try to get them to pay, and then you get the opportunity to relist it for free if you want.

It's bullshit. Why bid on something if you don't want to buy it? And seriously...when what you aren't paying for is a pair of almost brand new Dr. Martens that you got for 15 damn dollars, why not just fucking pay???

That's stupid! A shitty buyer shold be able to be noticed...that's kind of unfair to the seller...

I had a doucher on here flake out on me. Luckily I sent it certified. I dunno if that scared him off or he just changed his mind or what.
