  • Great list, my favorites from it are Wilco, The National, Radiohead, obviously Pearl Jam, The Dead Weather, and the Arcade Fire. If you get time to, I highly recommend the new Alice In Chains singles, and the entire album from both Grizzly Bear and Ben Harper & Relentless 7.

'My Girls' by Animal Collective is the song of the year so far I think

    There's so many good songs...I can't choose!

My favorite album so far this year is probably Merriweather Post Pavilion or Wilco (The Album) or something like that. Veckatimest is amazing as well. My favorite rap album this year is Raekwon's Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II. Polvo's In Prism is great as well.

Right now I'm occupied by remasters that were released this year of Neil Young's first four albums...they sound so amazing (I'm occupied by the Beatles remasters as well, of course!).

Edit: Oh, and I can't forget Horehound! My favorite song from that album is "So Far from Your Weapon".

Very nice list. I'll have to go from memory here so it probably won't be that good, but here are some of my favs of the year song wise

    neko case- animals
    wilco- bull black nova
    grizzly bear- ready able
rural alberta advantage- drain the blood
    phoenix-listomania
red fang- prehistoric dog ( not the best song but my fav video of the year for sure!)
    mastodon- the czar
    mastodon- last baron
    dinosaur jr- said the people
dionsaur jr- i don't wanna go there
    deer tick- easy
cymbals eat guitars- and the hazy sea
    sunset rubdown-black swan

I probably need to go back and listen to some more cd's i got this year to get a better list going, but that is what jumps out at me.

Some huge albums still coming though from BARONESS, PJ, Muse, Built to Spill, AIC, Flaming Lips
