Backspacer = Mellow???

From what we have heard of the record so far, does it seem like a soft, mellow, laid back record?

The only songs with a real hard edge seem to be "Gonna See My Friends", "Got Some" and maybe "Johnny Guitar".

Not that there is anything wrong with this just my initial perception.

    Not sure about that - Supersonic is a punk song - the Fixer isn't intended to be mellow. Seems it is 50/50. A couple more slower tempo songs than usual I guess.

    I think the last record was out of the ordinary that it only had two slow tunes. Each album usually has 3-4. This one might be more like 4

    I have only heard 2 songs so far, i want to know everyones opinion of how backspacer compares to the pearl Jam album. Soon enough
