Yeild.
I have been listening to a bunch of PJ records all the way through because I am going to a few upcoming shows. I used to compare every new album to "Ten, Vs., Vitalogy" because of the tremendous amount of influence those three records had on me, and at first nothing compared to what those did for me. But now as I listen to these records "Yeild" either my taste has changed, or I never gave them the the chance. Because most of my favorite songs aren't even on the first three, unless you count B-sides. Does any of that make sense?

Faithfull
No Way
Given to Fly
Wishlist
Do the Evolution

Low Light
In Hiding
All Those Yesterdays
Are the best songs from Yield.

It just doesn't get any better than Brain of J, Faithfull, and No Way for a trio opener on just about any album ever made. I love YIELD.
Oh and, i before e and whatnot.
No way. Absolutely no way. There is a correct answer for which four are better, and opinion has nothing to do with it. The first four are by far the better collection of songs, especially based on audience reaction. You get more reaction out of Pearl Jam fans for Indifference than any song post Yield.
Yield is a great album but with the new ones I dunno
their moving away from the rock which I love. I guess you could call it growing but I call it something else
those first 5 albums where so solid and true that it kinda makes it hard for me to listen to the new stuff
Avocado wasn't bad it was pretty good. This new stuff though? glad I didn't go to any shows
Probably has more to do with where I was in my life in 1993/1994... personal attachment to the songs playing in the background with the company I kept back then.
Hail, Hail!!!
Yield is fantastic but all albums are good and bad.
Only the first release of Ten hit me real hard. All songs are super.
Vs also... every song mindblowing.
After that they always managed to put at least on song on the album i just don't wanna hear.
Haha you beat me to it.

As was No Code before it.
See Low Light for what I think is Pearl Jam's finest recording.

Defo one of my favourite albums of all time let alone by PJ.
Seen Pearl Jam 4 times in London, once in Manchester, as well as an Eddie show at Hammersmith.
now watch me get shot down.
:-)
They already did that when they made No Code..
The new stuff is some of their best. Give it a chance!
I've been worshipping them since the summer of '93, but have got to say, Riot Act, Avocado and its looking like Backspacer will make up my top three from them. I think they just keep getting better and better.
