Great album, great Aussie album.
I am hooked on the song 'Tomorrow' right now, so much so, that I've been learning it all day on guitar.
Know it all except the solo, I suck at solo's.

Any fans?

  • Love, love, LOVE Silverchair. I can never get enough of "Ana's Song". I miss this band and I'm so mad that I never did get the chance to see them live years ago. Keep up the pratice, you'll nail it soon enough :p

Love every single Silverchair album.. each album they grow and show off how talented they really are .Seen them live 3 times, seeing them at the enmore theatre was one of the best concerts ive been to in my life. Up there with Pearl Jam !

  • one of my favorites as a teenager. saw them in a little club in st.louis during their freakshow tour. my first time in a "mosh pit" lol which was just a bunch of kids having fun pushing each other. good times..

I do like them, especially the Diorama and Neon Ballroom era, I wish I had seen them live but watched that MTV Live and Loud a zillion times. Does anybody have it on DVD?

I love Silverchair all the way up to Diorama. That album and everything after have just taken a turn musically that I don't like.

Yes really great album, was introduced to them by someone but i can't really listen to them anymore without getting bad nostalgia.

    Neon Ballroom is good too.

Apart from those 2 they arn't tooo great, dont think Freak was too good either.

Freak Show has been their weakest in my opinion but still good enough.

  • Diorama is one of the best albums I've ever heard. Young Modern was pretty good, but I'd like to see them keep going over the top like on Diorama

I think Silverchair are great live and the Frogstomp songs still sound really good live. I saw them twice on the Across The Great Divide tour with Powderfinger in 07. The Newcastle gig was a really great show in their home town. Daniel is a really good frontman, he doesn't take himself too seriously anymore. I saw their set at Lollapalooza too. They were on quite early in the afternoon and he kept asking the crowd to "clap your hands like we're still famous!"

I very much like me some Silverchair, especially Frogstomp and Neon Ballroom. Favorite song is The Door off Freak Show, though.

Frogstomp was my favorite cd when it came out. i listened to it on my discman when i did my paper route. i remember making my dad listen to it i loved it so much..

then they were gone..and magically reappeared on vh1 on very late night. freaked me out. i thought it was coldplay or something..
  • saw them on that tour even...their dads were the roadies.

I wrote about the cd itself on my blog a while ago as part of Forgotten Disc Friday..

  • best silverchair album.
you modern is a piece of shit. actually, anything post freak show is shit. Daniel Johns is a much better singer when he is angry!

i was at their first gig back after nearly 3 years off, their previous tour, they played nothing off frogstomp. 50000 people at a tsunami relief concert, they open with this!!!

  • Love me some Silverchair. I grew up alongside those dudes. Think they were 15 or some such when they released their first album? I was 16. Too bad they pretty much withdrew to only Australia, but I'm still there day one whenever they get around to actually releasing something. Diorama probably my fave as well. So good.
  • incredible album to have been made by anyone let alone a few kids... so fuckin heavy and fantastic... its a shame they shy away from pretty much everything on there live... and their recent stuff has gotten obnoxiously poppy

  • I really enjoyed their early stuff when I was younger. Diorama kind of turned me off on them though. I haven't even heard Young Modern. Is that any good?

if you didn't like diorama you won't like young modern sorry it's along the same lines. Both albums are beach boy like almost I love their newer style. Something KOL have to check out if they want to keep on their new style.

  • i am not a fan of the newer stuff at all. as i said earlier, Daniel Johns sounds so much better singing heavy and angry, not girly and soft.

I agree completely. I recently listened to Frogstomp again for the first time in years, and I just couldn't get over the fact that they were only fucking 15 when they did that record! Too bad they lost all that teenage angst because it really fueled their music. Their new stuff just fades into all the other junk that is out there today, nothing special in my opinion.
