Listen to the Force of Nature clip that's floating around. I heard the ATW, and I love what I heard, but I'm trying to save some songs for the 20th. I have a vague memory of what ATW's clip sounds like, along with The End, Just Breathe (Backspacer Making Of), Gonna See My Friend (few seconds). I heard a long time ago (and have totally lost memory of) Unthought Known. The one's I know in my head pretty well are Got Some, The Fixer, Speed Of Sound and Supersonic. Force and Johnny are the last two I've heard not one note from. Well, honestly, I did hear a split second of FON, but then I turned it off immediately (old RHCP + Stooges sound, right? wrong?) So, I guess now, after all is said and done, Johnny Guitar is the one song out of eleven I have never heard, not even once.
I hope I didn't lose anyone in the midst of this paragraph.

Gonna See My Friend (three seconds of youtube clip)
Got Some (Conan live and Verizon clip)
The Fixer (obviously...duh!)
Johnny Guitar (never ever ever)
Just Breathe (Making Of Video...9:50min)
Amongst The Waves (few seconds of youtube clip)
Unthought Known (a clip from a concert from last year)
Supersonic (b/side to The Fixer)
Speed Of Sound (demo present for solving the cover art puzzle)
Force Of Nature (one second from youtube clip)
The End (a clip from a concert last year)

Is this the case for others?

I'm old school too :ugeek: There is nothing like the anticipation followed by the gratification of listening to an album in its entirety for the first time. But then, I have the patience of Job for some things; others, not so much ;):D:mrgreen:

    This is all I've heard . . .

    Got Some (Conan live)
    The Fixer (obviously...duh!)
Speed Of Sound (demo present for solving the cover art puzzle)

I'm the same as Grungeyed, but I've only heard Speed Of Sound once, and have completely forgotten it, so it will feel like a new tune. Can't wait to hear the album through proper speakers, witg good quality source (the album, doh) which is the way it should be heard, in my opinion.

Count me in to this as well.

I realized one day that I'd already heard about half the album and that there was still a month to go with more things coming out all the time. I put a moratorium on hearing any new stuff until I can sit down and listen to the full album.

    The Fixer - mp3/vinyl single/Live at show
Speed of Sound - mp3 demo
Got Some - Live on Conan O'Brien/Live at show
    Supersonic - Live at show
The End - Live recording of performance

Even though I was thrilled at hearing Supersonic live (much as I was with hearing Betterman live for the first time in 1994 on the Atlanta show broadcast), I'd just rather become familiar with the studio versions first. :)

  • I've heard studio previews of all of the songs.
full versions of 'Supersonic' and 'The Fixer'
    live version "The End'
and a cover version of 'Unthought Known' (could be one of my favs of all time) from someone who saw a EV solo show.
Oh and the demo of 'Speed Of Sound" and i tell you what, the demo and the studio versions are so different that i'm still not sure if i like the studio version as much as the demo it has a whole different feel about the song.
  • aside from official releases and the backspacer promo video, i'm still straight edge...i'm damn proud of it too...all i've heard were:

    Got Some (Conan)
The Fixer (when it was released)
Speed Of Sound (through that little picture scavenger hunt game)
Super Sonic (from the single's b-side)
Just Breathe (the little bit in the Backspacer Promo)

to me those are all official releases. so like i said, i'm straight edge
  • I have heard just about every clip there is. I really wanted everything to be completely new but I couldnt help it with all these clips thrown at me.

All I have to say is the album seems to have alot of different sounds to it, unlike Avocado where every song had that same vibe/sound to it. The only two songs that are similar are the 2 ed acoustic ones, every other song has a completely different vibe.

From what I've heard those 2 songs belong on ITW.
