Welcoming in a new decade in January

Seems like not too long ago people were preparing to hoard food, and take money out of the bank cause some big, bad computer virus was gonna fuck shit up :lol: Honestly feels like a few years ago, not nearly a decade

Also watching the news today, as they mentioned the 8th anniversary for 9-11 was only a week away :o

    Wait, wait, mathematically is WHY it doesn't start until 2011. There is no year Zero, so the first 10 years of A.D. was 1-10, and the second decade started in 11 A.D. not 10 A.D.

    If you think of it another way, say scientifically, our genus(Homo) has been around for around 2.5 million years and our species(Homo sapiens) has been around for nearly 200 thousand years. So technically you could say it is year 195,143 + or - a few years; if you don't want to go by the calendar.

    Fuck it, lets go by the mayan calendar. It's about time we stop basing time off the time it takes our earth to orbit the sun. We aren't the center of the universe ya know. ;)

    Exactly. People made such a big deal for 2YK. The new decade/century/millenium began on 1/1/2001.

    Kinda started the thread to say that the last ten years, decade, 3,650 days or whatever you wanna call it have gone pretty fast.

    Oh I forgot, couldn't have been 3,650 days(must have had a leap year or 2 in there)

    Not as a litmus test on who doesn't get(fill in the blank) on here

    So the ones who like to be deep in thought and take everything literally on here. Chew on that "fill in the blank part" dont hurt your heads while you have at it :lol:
