I had never watched this show until this season, but some of the others at work had a pool going, so I figured I'd join in. This show amazes me! These people are really talented! Coming up with the designs is one thing, but executing them in such a short time frame just blows my mind! I feel like a person could be creative and design the art, OR they could be great at sewing, but it's hard to believe that these people really do both! It might be the ADHD talking or something, but I could never get to trees through the forest like that.

And fashion seems like it's a really difficult art form...people have to be able to WEAR it.

i love this show...I think it's amazing how they create what they do in such a short time, with a limited budget and with some of the material....I'm impressed every time I watch it :)

  • I love this show! I wish I were that talented. Seems amazing that they can execute their visions in such a short period of time. The avant garde challenge is always one of my faves. I like Shirin so far.

watched the last episode and had to wonder what the hell avant garde is every time they said avant garde. and they said avant garde a lot. what the hell is avant garde?
  • they do avant garde quite often. I think it pretty much means stuff that doesn't fit the norm. Clothes that are for the runway, not necessarily for people to actually wear.

  • it's weird watching this on lifetime. i'm glad that dimwit got dumped last week, he had no skill or gumption
  • Mitchell was a nightmare!! I could not stand him. I don't think he could actually sew.

I must admit I do not like the show being in LA, it belongs in NYC.

So I'll just lie down and wait for the dream
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
  • too true! So ugly. So I guess he sewed those.

I can't decide who I am rooting for this season? Anyone have a favorite?

  • Where in the world is Michael Kors? He needs to come back to the show ASAP!
  • no fave yet, the one chick who made the winning pregnant outfit is good. but nobody is really getting me excited on this show yet though.

AMEN. god i wish he was there for that nekkid outfit, he would have flipped his LID lol
  • I really like Louise Black, but it could be due to my love for vintage/retro.

yeah her stuff is nice, i love vintage
  • a bump for tonight's show. I think they are finally going to be making something out of unconventional materials tonight.

holy crap, HOW are they doing this!?!?!
  • So glad Johnny went home, what a liar. Even Tim didn't want to have anything to do with him. I noticed how Tim was fixing his sleeve when he told Johnny he needed to pack up his workspace, he didn't want to have to hug him or shake hands with him.

I'm still winning in my work pool! I had Johnny staying later than this, but most of the others had him going to the end!
  • who do you have to win it all in your pool?

    I have Christopher.
  • I was suprised Ra'mon went home. His outfit was a horror, but he has done some good work in previous challenges. And I am SOOO glad Michael Kors is back next week.
  • is it just me or is this season just....blah?
  • I think there are too many changes. The move to LA no Michael and Nina, and they challenges haven't been as exciting as in past seasons. The newspaper challenge was interesting though.

yeah, having just one of any of those changes would be enough to throw it off. hopefully with michael coming back this week it'll spice up some. just the designs, i dunno...they're not really doing anything for me. some are nice enough, but nothing is blowing me away, yet anyhow!

does anyone know how the show's producers make sure that the designers sew their whole lines themselves in the time leading up to fashion week? I was just thinking that while they're back home they could have other people help them.

Nonetheless, this is so exciting! Woooo Carol Hannah! I think her collection was beautiful!

I am SHOCKED that Carol Hannah was third. I went into this thinking that Irina was a lock, but after seeing CH"s collection I thought she might pull off an upset. :?

Heidi Klum, das ist der Quatsch!

Seriously, CH NAILED IT. Those clothes were so unbelievably beautiful. Irina's were fine, and yeah she made those stupid looking hats, but none of it looked like anything you couldn't buy at any high-end department store (and that black evening gown was NOTHING to write home about). But I've NEVER seen dresses like Carol Hannah's. The judges were right, her first dress unbelievable. I also loved the one that sort of bounced as the model went down the runway. I wouldn't wear it, but Carol Hannah gets how to make clothes move with a person. And I thought all of CH's clothes went together in a line- the colors all seemed to tell a story and they were all made of the same fabrics!

I loved, loved, LOVED, Carol Hannah's first dress. And the bouncy one! As soon as I saw that dress I squealed with delight, haha. That doesn't happen often.

Irina's clothes were good but just so....done. Ooooh all black armor-like clothes! No one's eevverrr done THAT before. Plus she was pretty bitchy

Oh man I wish I could go out and buy Carol Hannah's whole line. Of course I'd have to be invited to 13 white tie balls first...
