I'm sure they'll be here in 2010 when the "real" Backspacer tour gets underway. I have a feeling that the Australian dates are the official start to the Backspacer tour ala 2003 with the Riot Act tour. There is too much down time in October for that to be part of the real tour.

Yeah, it's wait till next year time. Either the arena on Causeway street or Great Woods, probably for two nights. After what tailgating in Mansfield was like last June I almost rather they play Boston proper. I love outdoor shows, but security was ridiculous that night.

    See ya in 2010!

Huh, I drank openly in the parking lot for 2 hrs before the show, said hi to security and even a couple Mansfield cops with a Sam summer in hand and didn't get bothered once.

You must have been the only one. The cops searched my trunk for alcohol. Because I was there with my brother, who was 17 at the time, they thought they scored big on an underage possession. They were visibly dissappointed when they didn't find anything. Lucky they didn't realize there was beer in the coke cans.

We were warned right when we arrived at GreatWoods last summer that there would be no alcohol and that people would be going to jail if so. We parked in the VIP lot, and had security walking through every 30-45 minutes. We drank out of keg cups, and just put our drinks down when security came through. We were never bothered. And it was no secret that we were drinking.

We did see people getting their vehicles searched, beers poured out, and what not. I'm not sure if they were taking out people that were being obnoxious about it or not, but they never gave us a problem.

I was in the VIP lot ($40) due to the past events where I sat in line to leave for hours. The cops rode by on bikes and security had golf carts. Saw me with a red 16oz. Solo cup with a 12pk of Sam summer sitting on my tailgate next to my charcoal grill. Never said anything to me. I was talking to the folks across the way playing a PJ bootleg out of their stereo and we were sharing beers and food. Honestly, I had a great time and never noticed any of the cops busting balls around where I was parked.

"the arena on Causeway street" - ha that's awesome. at this point that's the only thing you can call it if you want people to know what you're talking about.

and I agree, it's better than that, uh, other place. though the view is usually better at the other place...and the sound...I've just confused myself.
