As summer comes to a screeching halt......

Tell me how you your summer was??? Did you enjoy it?? Too short??

Mine was decent.....Not great, but decent...

We went camping once...
Went to the pool a couple dozen times....
Used the new grill 5,935 times....
Made it to the lakefront a couple of times................

We had fun....
Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

    Mine was great!

    Turned 21.
    Moved into my new apartment.
    Adopted our second dog.
    Got a raise at work.
Went to Chicago for Pearl Jam.
Have had numerous BBQ's with friends/family at my place.
    Purchased beer legally.
Finally went back to school w/ tuition reimbursement.

Summer of '09 will be a memorable one for me.

only about 2-3 weeks there in August was it warm

PJ in Toronto and Chicago was the highlight

smoked more dope than I wanted to so that probably didn't help doing productive things

Had a couple of weeks of sun at the end of June, maybe a week or so in July too. Lots of rain.

Had pancreatitus, had my bile duct stretched. Had my gall bladder out.

Went to a garden festival to look at nice plants/garden displays.

Went to a small local festival with hubby and son. Got roped into doing face painting on a friends stall, which was new to me. Also saw The Zutons there (2nd time this year), great live band better than on cd.

Went to Germany with my son to see my brother & his family.

Walked, drank decaf, drank pear cider and ate with friends and family (a lot).

Spent most of the summer off work (10 weeks) - recovering from surgery (6 weeks), 1/2 time at work (1 week - slow reintroduction back), holiday time (2 weeks), 4 day week (1 week). So pretty lucky - well apart from the pain.

Redecorated the kitchen (including painting the cupboards - so we didn't have to buy a new one)

Saw Pearl Jam at the MEN

In fact all in all not a bad one.

Funny.... where was I for that!
  • Went by too fast... I did my best to enjoy it as I'm 95% sure this was my last summer in my hometown (graduation and hopefully grad school coming up soon.) That made it hard...as every time I did something, went to a favorite swimming hole outside of town I couldn't help but wonder if it was the last time I was going to be there.

Otherwise, I was productive. Studied for and subsequently aced the GRE, took a summer class, submitted 13 grad school applications and quickly learned how to deal with rejection.

Pearl Jam wise, had an amazing summer... made a great new friend during a week long road trip to Tennessee for EV (Melissa), reconnected with old friends in Memphis, Toronto, and Chicago. Got to shake Ed's hand in Memphis and wished I had been able to tell him something, anything, about how this music has changed my life for the better. But...I'd lost my voice the day before. Shoot. :)

After that I can't post the trivial complaints I was going to make. Summer was good - saw NIN 6x, and PJ 1x. Could have used a little more sleep and a little more warm weather but oh well. Always sorry to see summer go - its my favorite time of year.

    Pretty damn good.

Spent a lot of time at my parent's lake house, although that was more work than fun.
Vacation in Quebec in June was incredible.
Kids took a few trips to Grandma's so that's always nice and so was sending them to camp.
Chicago with friends and Pearl Jam was perfect.
The Rangers have made it very interesting this year. I went to more games this year than I had in years.
Weather was hot as hell but has been great lately.

Ranks close to the top for me.

Never complain about summer, weather here was decent. Went to Grand Canyon/Oak Creek Canyon/Sedona in Arizona...real pretty there. Saw Pearl Jam in Toronto, and some real nice day trips with my wife. Had my sister over a couple of weekends. Damn sad to see it leaving...RIP Summer.

I caught him in early May in Toronto was thinking that was spring but maybe I should count it as summer.
I also saw the Jonas Brothers because I took my daughter and her friend, but we won't talk about that :geek:

Weather has been crap. No summer holiday due to a long trip to New Zealand in December. If anyone mentions that we are arriving after the PJ shows I'll scream.

Some excellent concerts, Bruce at Hyde Park, PJ and KOL at the O2, Oasis at Wembley.

Not bad, got some decking which I built at the bottom of the garden, found a venue for next years wedding, its bloody sunny outside so I'd say we have a few weeks of it left.

I had the most amazing summer of my entire life.

My boy came home to my heart
We travelled the North of Scotland
We sat on the beach in Iona
    I turned 40
I had a huge birthday party
I made the decision to move to Canada to be with my boy forever
    I saw U2 at Hampden
