merkinball,where are you?

I love this little 2 song EP! Bought the very first day it was released and listened to it everyday for years.
Lost it for a short time after I moved :cry: and almost went crazy until I found it in a box in my closet.
So here is the problem,sure you can buy this little gem on Ebay but other than that this thing is impossible to find anywhere else! At least it is for me.
Looked on itunes-nowhere to be found
Looked in used record stores - nope
Looked on the TEN CLUB - They don`t even list it in the music section! WTF :o
Long Road wasn't even on Lost Dogs. Why?

    Mirror Ball is a top ten album for me. Would love to hear a follow up. Merkinball is great too.

    Yes I know it is on amazon & ebay. My question was more of why nowhere to be found here on Ten Club?

    I bought in on vinyl the day it came out. Never opened it. Still have it.

    I can't believe this and Lost Dogs aren't listed in the music section. New fans could miss out on these gems because they aren't listed on the band's official site!

    I was still in high school (Finnish one) when it came out. I remember going to the local record store (which sadly closed its doors last year) between lessons at around 10am when it opened and got it also the first day it was out here in Finland. I LOVE the EP. It must be Pearl Jam's finest work. :D

    I remember there was a rumour that it was to be the first single from the upcoming album that they said would be out in the beginning of 1996. I got my hopes up with Merkinball, it was clearly a new direction after Ten/Vs/Vitalogy. After Merkinball No Code was a huge dissapointment to me.

    Love Mirrorball too!

    do you guys remember the story behind merkin ball????...i do...story goes like this....they had made a FULL CD before the release of merkin ball....it was rumored around for months that a new cd was going to come out ... in stead of a full cd we got merkin ball a 2 track LP........ NOW COMES the tricky part... they had recorded all the tracks for the new cd.. im not sure if the cd was put to print .. but i wanna say there was legal issues with that album THAT NEVER CAME OUT....do to either the songs...the producer.the sound engineer....ETC ETC.... i have a close friend of mine who worked (still does).. for sony/epic.. she tryed gettin me a copy of the songs or even the truth of to why the cd was never released ......but to no avail..

    Both songs are in my top 10, that kind of little surprises represented PJ to me, that era was scary because of the rumors of separation, but we had vitalogy and no code released "very close" to each other but very different, and in between we had merkinball. Well I lived in south America at the time so I may have the fact a little off.

    I was a huge fan back then (94/95) and i don't remember that story about Merkinball.

    I do remember there being some legal issues around the Pearl Jam name being used on the Mirrorball CD.

    The one thing i always wondered was why Ed wasn't more involved in the album. I think he only sings a bit of backup on Peace & Love and maybe another track.

    At any rate this whole era 94-95 was a real peak creative point for the band. I pray that we get more archive stuff with the eventual re-release (special edition) of Vitalogy.

    I've never heard the rumor that they had recorded a full album's worth of their own songs when they made Merkin Ball. They were working with Neil Young at the time recording Mirror Ball so I doubt they would have recorded an entire other album at the same time. They just recorded these two additional songs with Neil as a companion single for the album.


    BTW - On Mirror Ball, Ed sings backup vocals on I'm the Ocean, and lead for some parts of Peace and Love. The latter song was one that Neil had not finished. Ed wrote some additional lines for it, which are the ones he sings.

    I`m happy that you loved Merkinball also ........but. I have to diagree with about No Code. That is my favorite Pearl Jam album of all time!!!!!!!!!!! All of the songs on No Code are great.

    Actually I didn't know that it was that detailed rumour...Could it really be that Pearl Jam has FULL unreleased album from that era (between Vitalogy and No Code)?? Now that's something I'd be 1*10^n times more interested in hearing than Backspacer :D

    Merkinball is the only one single I want to have.
    A few days ago I found it on Allegro - this is something like Ebay - but bigger and more poular in my country than ebay. The first price was very promising, so first time in my life (yes... first) I started to bid it. and then... the f*** seller finished the auction without reason leaving me with my emotions and hope. I wrote to him why he did it... he said his friend bought it and a few other albums.

    I feel really disappointed - why the hell people don't think before they start auctions?

    Och... o now.

    Now I still try to find Merkinball on ebay and allegro too, but I don't know if this situation repeat I will do sth bad probably the stupid seller or i don't know ...

    Love Merkinball!!!

    I can listen to it on repeat for days. Somehow, though 'just' I Got Shit followed by Long Road, it feels like such a journey musically that it hardly seems like there are only two songs.

    Days, on end. Love 'em both!

    I always assumed that Merkinball came out as they were the two Ed tracks from the Mirrorball sessions that couldn't be used on the Mirrorball album because of the label differences (because Ed sang lead). I'm curious to know what the tracking would have been for Mirrorball if they could have used these two tracks.

    I have been using this photo for over 2 years now.
    It is also my photo on myspace & facebook......
    Just because you find a picture on photobucket doesn't make it yours and yours alone.
    Seriously............I am just amazed that somebody would have a problem over something so meaningless!?????
