Support your local record store whenever and where ever possible!!! from where and in what format does everyone intend to purchase Backspacer?

i'm still undecided between CD vs. vinyl but i will certainly be purchasing through my local record store.

Well, I pre-ordered Backspacer from the Ten Club, but I'll be in Seattle the day it gets released, so I'm planning on downloading it from iTunes on my iPhone, so I can listen to it before the Seattle shows.

I'll check my regular record shop, Blackbyrd Myoosik in Edmonton, for the vinyl version. I've heard it's glow in the dark!

It's about time I start collecting PJ vinyl, so with this one, I'll probably buy to copies, one to keep sealed, and a cd version to rip to my iTunes.

I pre-ordered the vinyl and CD from 10C...however i predict that i will be going with a 3rd option on the 20th because there is likely no way that i will be able to hold out for those extra couple of weeks for the 10C to actually get the shipped copy to me in Canada.

pearljammer thats nice you are in edmonton. i just moved to calgary and i found there was not alot of PJ love in edmonton. sonic always played daughter, ledbetter, and ten stuff. i bought riot act, s/t and lost dogs on vinyl in edmonton so you shouldnt have a problem. did you go to V-fest???

Its being released on a Sunday right? I preordered it from 10C amd if its not in the mail by Saturday I'll more than likely download it from itunes before going to work that morning. First time ever that I have to work on a day PJ is releasing a new album. SUCKS.

I'm heading up to Seattle for the 2 shows in September, so, I'm going to be at Easy Street Records on Sunday the 20th ... sort of a Pearl Jam fan's trip to Mecca is you will. Just felt right to buy it there, even if they charge a few extra bucks.

I'll be buying it in CD only.

Also, someone on BRY posted that if you buy the Live @ Easy Street CD, the store will be providing customers who purchase the CD a copy of that night's setlist. Kind of a cool bonus.

Hey, you're right, I think there's more PJ love in Calgary than Edmonton. The difference between the Calgary and Edmonton 2005 shows was palpable. I am originally from Calgary but moved here a few years ago. What was I thinking!? But I've grown to love Edmonton, or at least lots of things about it. I was at V-fest, I parked myself up front for the entire day. That show was awesome! It was so cool to be in a pit in broad daylight watching PJ!

Sonic used to rock, I listened to them all the time when I first moved up here. They played such a diversity of songs, and hardly any radio-friendly garbage, but they've since started adding all sorts of pop and trendy rock to their playlists and I can't stand them anymore!

sonic used to be a trailer on the side of the highway and now they are pretty massive. they need to stop playing so much sonic boom artists... that seems to be all they play. franz ferdinand, metric, metric, metric, oh ya there are other bands out there. they also advertise concerts for the gaslight anthem but don't actually play them. i think i have heard them play "the '59 sound" twice ever. but as much as we can bash sonic, they are way ahead of the other stations in edmonton. the bear is brutal now, capital fm horrible. k rock is only the other station i could stand to listen to.

i went to edm, cal and vancity 2005 and i thought vancouver was amazing and then calgary 2nd. edmonton was more of a greatest hits show but i did get to go front row for jeremy during the encore. these ladies from california were sitting beside us at all 3 shows and they got hooked up front row and they gave me the bracelet for a few songs. i dont remember alot of those 10 minutes, i just remember mike shredding it and jumping up and down. V-fest was actually awesome hey man? the crowd was insane, the mosh pit at one point involved people running and throwing fists at each other. there were also so many people passing out before the show. got some was still a highlight for me. not many people knew what they were playing but it was just awesome live. can't wait for this disc and the seattle shows. a buddy and me are going to both shows and then vancouver.

I'm buying a CD from the ten club, already pre-ordered. I'm buying from the ten club because I remember when Pearl Jam came out we got it a couple days early.

I agree with supporting your local record store though! My local record store seems to be doing ok...every time I go in there it's packed...so I'm not too worried.

you'd really be better off burning a copy from the one you get from 10c and not even bothering with buying it at target.

i learned the hard way that cds eventually get extremely scratched and ultimately become unplayable when played in car cd players.

i preordered from 10C, but if it doesnt arrive on the 20th i will buy from target (cuz im a fiend) and just deal with both. im hoping they will each have different perks

I pre-ordered my cd from the 10c, but I am also going to be a copy from one of the local music stores down here in Oz, cause i am guessing that i won't be getting my 10c copy until after the 20th, and Backspacer is due to be released here on the 18th...so I HAVE to buy me a copy from the music store, unti my 10c copy arrives!!

Preordered the CDs (three of them) from the 10c. (Gotta keep the bf and best friend happy.) We will be on our vacation in Seattle on the 20th so we are hoping that Easy Street has the vinyl. The only down side is we won't have a way to play it until we get back home on the 23rd.
