    I'm in...
  • I laughed.
Believe me, when I was growin up, I thought the worst thing you could turn out to be was normal, So I say freaks in the most complementary way. Here's a song by a fellow freak - E.V
  • i'm actually quite interested in what the last song will be...it's got to be amazing, it' got to be completely unreal. it's got to be something eddie can pour a lot of heart into...

i think it's going to be Baba O'Riley...it's just such a great song and has a celebratory mood to it while we say good-bye and celebrate the spectrum

Who was the first band to play the spectrum? I can see Ed trying to bring it full circle w/ a cover.
"You're no help," he told the lime. This was unfair. It was only a lime; there was nothing special about it at all. It was doing the best it could.

    Gotta go with something different...

Eye of the Tiger would do it for me.

    yup

yeah but i feel like that's too slow of a song to recap a place like the spectrum. It needs to be something with a more celebratory vibe to it, like i mentioned Baba O'Riley seems to fit best, at least among the songs i can list in my head
  • I think it would be sweet if they closed the place down with a song they have never played yet...something like 'hold on' or something.

I don't think there's going to be that much thought into the last song. It's not like Pearl Jam's connection is to Philly as it is to Seattle or somewhere like that.
That said, it's gonna be a helluva show!

(I like the Eye of the Tiger concept. Sharp.)
  • If 'Philly' means Philadelphia then you are way out.

It's gotta be that Elton John number with Billie Jean King and the girls helping out on backing vocals.
we're all going to the same place...

If not, you can bet your balls that that this is the last song you hear before you get to your car.

    Leaving Here
    Go
    Gone
    Off he Goes

    the possibilities are endless...
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to
slide in sideways, BBQ sandwich in one hand, cold beer in the other,
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "Woo Hoo what a
    ride"!

Need a tour Travel Agent??? Pick me :-)

Whatever you are, be a good one --Lincoln
  • seriously though, i imagine that pj being the way they are, they'll want the last song to be a classic, wether it be a cover version, or what they consider one of their biggest songs.

but on the other hand, i wouldn't be surprised if they just finished with yellow ledbetter,

    Brokedown Palace

it's only fitting they close with this song. it be cool to honor the dead and to honor the dead playing the spectrum 53 times.
Ron: I just don't feel like going out tonight
    Sammi: Wanna just break up?

Then they should play Samson and Delilah.

  • Why not close with "The End" their new song off of Backspacer?
