but this is so way over-the-top and kind of disrespectful to his legacy.

We're not going to let Kurt Cobain rest in peace.
First, there was the super creepy mash-up featuring the flannel enthusiast interspersed with Rick Astley. Now, we stumble on this footage of the former Nirvana frontman's likeness really belting out Bon Jovi's bar classic "You Give Love a Bad Name" along with songs by Bush, Megadeth and Public Enemy.
Here's the deal. Cobain's persona has been licensed as a video game character in "Guitar Hero 5." You can apparently unlock him in the career mode and sully his reputation by making him play guitar right-handed, sing Bush's always confusing lyrics and emulate Flavor Flav.
The somewhat gut-turning visual evidence:

The only thing, and I mean the ONLY thing, that would make this slightly bearable would be if all the proceeds were put into a trust for Frances Bean and that Courtney could not profit from this in any way. Unfortunately, I don't see that happening at all :(

So he's in a video game. He should be more ashamed of being a junkie father who shot himself in the head....
i was gonna write something along those lines, but you can't get through to judgmental people. they see things their way and their way only.
Has nothing to do with me....
I'm saying he would be more ashamed that he left his daughter without a father than being in some silly video game.
I love when people make excuses for these junkie celebs based on how great their body of work is. Get over it...

Agreed.
The fact that people are getting all worked up because a video game company is going to render a pixilated avatar in the likeness of a guy that killed himself 15 years ago is completely beyond me.
So you're saying it's more important to be hip and antiestablishment than it is to be a nonjunkie, good father?
Crappy he couldn't kick the smack(did he ever really want to?), but he's still more of a piece of shit for offing himself than he ever AND being a horrible father will be for singing ANY song.
There are plenty of people that have kicked worse smack habits than him. If he was still around, they wouldn't have need Steven Adler for Celebrity Rehab.

No more inappropriate than a poster boy for non-mainstreamism being on MTV.
But yeah, he's on a videogame...perhaps Kurt would've done it himself? In all honesty (and this is just my opinion), but had Kurt not killed himself, cleaned up, and stuck it out with Nirvana....would they have really been able to survive making albums with the same type of songs? The collection they have right now is almost too extensive already. How much Nirvana can one person handle?
The day Ian MacKaye is in a video-game is the day that I'll be truly ashamed.

Word! These are the " heroes" people look up to. He was nothing but a quitter, sad :( but true.
Constant Recoil..Sometimes life, Don't leave you alone
When the anxious is the present, unwrap your gifts, take your time
...and this is strictly my opinion, but Cobain's body of work is really not anythign I would classify as "great".

Whether we like it or not...People grow up and their idealism fades into reality. There is no way PJ could continue to tour the world and headline huge events without the type of monitary support they no doubt secure from these deals.
I realize Kurt is a different story because Nirvana is no more, but don't kid yourself into thinking that Nirvana/Kurt would be the same person he was in 1994. Example: Eddie Vedder
