for people in L.A. - my band + a great cause -

Hey you guys, just wanted to let you know about something I'm involved in with my band the Echo Division (www.myspace.com/echodivision). Here's the text of an email I sent out to all of our contacts, just letting them know about an awesome new way we're starting to reach out... thanks for checking it out - Paul
Hello friends -
Well, as many of you know, I just
returned from my 2nd trip to Uganda this July. I wish I could tell
you about all the amazing, beautiful, heart-wrenching things we saw
and did, but for now let's just suffice it to say that I am forever
changed...
And that's why we (the Echo Division) are doing something special on
September 19 - we are doing a show to benefit a brand-new nonprofit
organization that's working in Uganda - Mercy's Village International.
My wife, Jeami, has started Mercy's Village with the goal of helping
children in this war-ravaged country - giving them opportunities to
lift themselves from poverty and their nation's violent cycle. The
first step - building a school in the Gulu region of northern Uganda -
awesome. It's a tremendous undertaking, but something we believe in
wholeheartedly.
So, on September 19, we're going to dress in our finest Tshirts, play
our best songs, and rock as hard as humanly possible (as we always
do). This time, though, we're donating all of our door money, CD
sales, etc, to Mercy's Village, and we're inviting you out so that you
can be a part of it - and so that you can learn more about the
organization and the situation in Uganda.
So come, sit back, have a beer and enjoy the music, all the while
knowing that you're helping make a difference across the world. I
know I always say that it's a "BIG" show, and each one is important in
its own way... but this night in September is something very close to
our hearts - it means a ton to us, and we hope you'll come out and
share it with us!

I hope you have a great turnout.
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
Well, whatever happens at the show, at least I'll be happy on the following day when the PJ record comes out... so it's gonna be a good weekend...
