It's been one year since Leroi Moore passed away

I was lucky enough to see one of his last shows in Mansfield last summer. I can't believe he's gone.

Besides the obvious friendships he had with the band, they miss his sound. Their new album sounded off without his sax. Say what you will about DMB, but each member is a very talented musician and cannot be easily replaced.

most of the sax on bwggk is leroi...it was recorded before he died

i was at the show the day he died...it was something i won't ever forget...it was amazing to share that moment with the band
  • this band totally blew me away with big whiskey..im pretty sure he didnt do all the new songs on the album but he did a few..and the live show is SOOOO much better now with Tim Reynolds helping out. i used to be able to atleast understand the hate DMB got on this board but now i just dont agree with it at all..GREAT LIVE BAND

In Wayne from Wayne's World voice - "i was not aware of that". It sounded less heavy on the sax Leroi influence this album, so I assumed. I liked the new album but haven't really loved an album of theirs since the Live at Luther College album, which was actually just Dave and Tim Reynolds. But I'd say Groogrux King is the best band album since Busted Stuff.

    So sad.

DMB is one of my favorite bands. Luckily they found Jeff Coffin, who has big shoes to fill, but obviously has the potential. He adds some great energy to their shows and while he does have his own sound, he's fucking amazing.
