Mike McFuckinCready!
I know that I'm going to be preaching to the converted here but I had to get this off my chest.
Mike McCready is the absolute shit!
I know, I know, let's state the obvious right? We all know how good a guitarist he is, especially live, but hear me out. I've seen PJ live 12 times since 1993 and he's always sounded great but the O2 show was the first time that I've made it to the front on Mike's side and really watched what he gets up to. Every other time I've seen them I've either been in Stone or Eddie's section, seated or (when I was younger) bouncing around like a fool in the pit! The only other time I've been Mike's side was at Lollapalooza but the camera rig was blocking my view so I only caught a glimpse of him when he came right to the edge of the stage.
The man is pure rock and roll, as much of a 'showman' as a guitarist can be without ever taking the spotlight away from the singer. I love the way that he interacts with the crowd in front of him, smiling and pointing, even chatting and laughing with people in between songs. No matter what people think of Even Flow or Ledbetter, to watch him immerse himself into his solos is a mind-blowing experience. Eddie even introduced him at the O2 as "Mike McFuckinCready!" hence the title of this post.
I can't believe it's really taken me 16 years to actually see Mike play. Sorry Stone, it was great while it lasted! I'll come back to you in a few years!

I've seen Mike on videos, that's why i wanted to be closer.
He is like a magnet. I almost forgot to look at Ed (yes, probably it's nothing new - we all like Ed).
Mike is just amazing! And His guitar!
Recalling this show makes me smile again.

This is me after:
Mike is the destroyer of faces!
Fucking awesome! Mike is criminally underrated. I love how people say grunge killed the guitar solo but Mike gets up there and goes balls out every show.

Went to all 4 Euro shows... MINDBLOWING!!! (in Rotterdam/Berlin/Manchester I was on Mikes side -absolutely loved it- in London I ended up infront of Stone, front row.. still great
Won't let the darkness swallow me.
1) some say the band "hates to play" Evenflow. I think Mike loves to play it....in fact, I think he loves any song with a solo.
2) opening the Vegas '06 show with Inside Job sent shivers down my spine.
