From everything I keep hearing about this song, everyone is pretty excited about it. From the clip I've heard, I am as well. People have said they can sense a Given to Fly feel to this one. I hope this is true, as I love the dynamic in that song so much... how it moves and transforms like a wave. I just hope I'm not building it up too much right now. People said the same sort of thing about Gone, and while it is a good song and captures some of the feeling of Given to Fly, it still didn't have the same staying power for me. I am more optimistic about this one though.

Every review calls this one of the highlights. After hearing about :45 seconds worth...I can see/hear why. Sounds like classic PJ to me.

this is what "severed hand" was to the last CD....and maybe better now on this CD...

Gone was great until it got to the chorus which was about two hooks away from being a classic. From the two clips we've heard of Amongst The Waves, it sounds every bit as melodic and memorable as songs like Given To Fly and In Hiding.

I have heard 3 clips. 1) the 15 second clip from Verizon, 2) the Verizon clip extended maybe another 10 or so seconds, and 3) the 30 second clip from Amazon UK (which got retracted). The Amazon clip was a different part of the song than the Verizon clips. While everybody keeps giving Given to Fly and In Hiding comparisons, the song that keeps jumping out, to me, is Dissident. Amongst the Waves, to me really has that feel of Dissident. I, too, have heard the reviews to date, and all point to a positive review of this song. Some have said people who like Alive will like this. Alive and Dissident have some similarities. I'm excited!

God, this is going to be the best song in a long time. From what I understand the verizon clip was from the very end of the song, at the end of the last chorus.. you can piece the lyrics for the two clips together..

I got chills when I heard this amazon clip with these lyrics. I already loved the verizon clip...but love turned to worship when I heard that clip.

Looking at the lyrics now gives me goosbumps.

I was just thinking last night that this has the potential to be up there as an Even Flow or Alive in terms of setlist regularity
