I gotta say that Gone has never really been one of my favorites. Not even my likes.

You Are is awesome live. I'd say my favorite version is from Alpine Valley 03.

Agreed. But I have never been so happy to hear it before until Chicago 2. I really needed a pee break and that show was so spectacular that I just had to hold it ... then Gone started ...

I like both songs a lot. "You Are" has a very ethereal/droning quality live that sucks me in...especially when accompanied by good lights. "Gone" is very much like "Given To Fly" with a chill section leading into a building wave into the chorus. It never gets the same reaction live because GTF is a stronger song that everyone knows and the first crescendo gets the whole place jumping, but I think Gone is pretty cool nonetheless. Perhaps with a slight change in lyrics, Gone could have been a big hit.

I agree that Gone is pretty weak. One of the few songs I actually like better on the album than I do live.

I've got to disagree. You are is one horrible song. Really bad. That, help help and nothing as it seems absolutely would bore me to tears at a concert.

I love You Are! I find it to have a very sexy sound and I agree, when played live and accompanied by a good light show--it's fantastic! :) Gone is one of the few songs I actually enjoy from the Avacado album...

To each his/her own. I'd personally rather hear You Are or Gone instead of Yellow Ledbetter any day!

maybe because i was at Borgata 2 and witnessed the world premiere of this song- first time ever played live,
and also witnessing ed paying homage to springsteen beforehand, made it more special to me ( as a huge springsteen fan of course )

also love you are, it was really wicked at MSG in 03'

Yea people fucking rag on this song too much. It's one of my favorites. Both the studio version (on vinyl) and the christmas single version are mind blowing
