10C vs. iTunes vs. Target - Backspacer Pre-order

Since there is only one more day left to pre-order the album from 10C and receive free shipping, I thought it would be interesting to see how many people decided to pre-order, from where, and why...

I pre-ordered from 10C for a variety of reasons:

-

the better packaging (the art is gonna look sick on this album)
- the concert downloads (all cds will come with it)
- to support the band directly (plus, I like getting stuff in the mail from 10C)
- most importantly, it will most likely come a day or two EARLY!!! (I can't wait...)

So let me know what you guys did, cause I'd be interested in hearing...

Also, does anyone know if iTunes releases happen at 12:01 AM the day of the release?

Downloads for new albums usually occur on iTunes around 11pm the night before a release.

It now appears that the iTunes purchase does not come with any extras. When it was first posted, it listed a special live version of Betterman. Then it was changed to say that people who pre-order will be sent a code to download two live shows (same shows as the retail disk at Target). Now there's no bonus listed, so not sure what's going on there.

I'm wondering if you preorder the vinyl version here, are there any bonuses included? I e-mailed the question to the Ten Club and I'm still awaiting the response.

do you get more if you choose one over the other?

I pre-ordered from 10C. Being from Canada, I get no free shipping, and it actually costs me MORE than to get it in the store (I think my final tally all tolled will be about $24 CDN). But I'm interested in the different packaging, and whatever bonus may come my way. If iTunes had some bonus tracks, music always trumps anything else for me, but at least in the Canadian store, there's nothing except getting The Fixer immediately to the pre-order. And we don't have Target up here (at least not in Winnipeg).

And the band getting my money is always of interest to me. I just wish I could have added some other stuff to my order. I really wanted that Deranged Diction cd, and a sweater and some stickers for my hardshell acoustic bass case. But alas, it was not to be. I'll just have to order all those seperately.

I pre-ordered from 10C because there seemed to be several benefits in doing that: Special packaging, free shipping, possible bonus disc, and possiblity of getting it early.

I bought it mainly for the different packaging. I loved how the 10c version of Avacado looked, and from the artwork we've seen I think Backspacer will be even better.

I'm in the UK so no chance of getting it early, but still going to go into town on Septembe 21st and buy it.

I preordered from 10c so I could get the different packaging and to support the band plus hopefully I will get it before it is released at target. I am going to buy it at target also to see the differences.

I pre-ordered it on Vinyl from the 10C. It's cool that theyy will be selling it on vinyl at Target, though. I am gonna get the edition with the CD and Rock Band DLC from Target and send the CD to my 8yo daughter for an "everyday" present.

hahahah, yeah! it happened with Avocado, and the release is a Sunday, which means to get it to us by the release date, we'd have to get it Saturday...I think once people start getting theirs, a lot of others will be wishing they had pre-ordered w/ 10C...from the looks of this thread, though, most people ordered from 10C...

I ordered 10c on the hopes of getting an early delivery, different package, potential bonus features. If the 10c version doesn't arrive on or before Saturday, I go to Target Sunday morning. If 10c arrives before Sunday, i'll hit Target probably sometime that week. One for my son, or for the car vs in the house, or whatever.

I haven't heard anything about that...

I believe the whole album will be a Rockband DLC available through the game...

Like to support 10c so I ordered cd there. Plus hoping for a little earlier & bonus material. Heard here how much better Avocado was thru 10c so decided not to cheat myself of extras-couldn't pass that up w/free s&h! Won't buy from itunes as I'm kind of a purest about getting original pkging & bonuses. As for Target, since it's about 2 min from my home, will most likely check it out there-maybe buy if it had extras 10c version doesn't-maybe buy vinyl. Although they let me down on Fixer single :evil:

I was just checking that, and the Canadian iTuns site still has the live Betterman track, nothing else. My plan is to get it through iTunes saturday night so I can listen to it on the road to Seattle sunday morning - then get a physical copy (and hopefully vinyl) in Seattle.

Could have 6-7 listens in by the time I get to Seattle!

I really liked the Avocado "book" and this will be similar, so I ordered from the TC for that and to support the band directly.

I ordered through Ten Club because of the packaging. I really don't care about the concert downloads (if I get any codes), though I would prefer the Rock Band DLC instead.

I work at Target now, so I'll buy it there (I'm really excited at the thought of two concert downloads). I'm still angry that I bought Into the Wild the day it came out, and later learned of the itunes bonus tunes. Good thing my friend bought it that way and hooked me up.

Does anybody in Europe already got their Fixer single from 10c? Got my "order processed" email on 08/19 and I´m still waiting.... :(

Ordered the CD from 10C even though it's ended up costing me a good 50% more than buying it elsewhere would have. Have ordered the vinyl from HMV (in spite of the errors on the SBE pre-sale) as they're the only company who've consistently got new vinyl to me the Saturday before it's due out.

ordering from 10C, and being up in the Great White North, I don't expect to see Backspacer in my grubby little mits until WELL after the street date.



plus, we don't have mail delivery on weekends like the yanks do. our Newmen only work Mon-Fri.
