ooohh... that sounds like good advice... I've a tendency to mumble in interviews :oops: and always wish I sound stronger. I've an interview tomorrow and one the next day (both internally) and I've done zero preparation yet :shock:

I've had one telephone interview and I did plenty of singing and dancing around the house that morning... got offered the job too

Good luck with the rest and just an alternative for any nerves - Bach Flower remedies - Rescue Remedy. It's quite nice and calming.

Don't give the interviewer too much power over you....they are just normal people....remember that they are just doing their job, and they too once had to go thru the same interview process as well.

You gotta make them want you. I practically interviewed myself at my last interview. I talked to the guy over the phone, interview next day, he said he already knew he was hiring me based on our phone conversation. Killer job too, I may add.

No lip piercing, it just looks unprofessional, even in todays day in age.

My department would have the manager interview the candidate and then everyone in the department sit around them and bombard them with questions. If i had to pass that interview process I'd fail miserably. That is horrible!!!

I understand your lip piercing thing, but I would take it out. You don't want the interviewer focusing on that instead of listening to what you have to say.

If I get nervous during a presentation, I just slow down and pause and think. I just try to treat it like I'm having a regular conversation rather than something that has to be all prepared and perfect (but I prepare like it has to be perfect!)

Oh, forgot to say. One of the women interviewing me for the last one was called McCready - that must be a sign!!

Been offered one of the jobs so far - as long as all the pre-employment checks come back ok! The one I wanted most - only a six month contract, but they're trying to get funding to extend it.

Really pleased (even if it means having to go back to work ). Thank you all!
