    I think it's not too flattering to minnesota unfortunately. It's a complete guess on my part but perhaps it means something like-->

    the outside of the person looks good, sophisicated, cool, whatever the entertainment industry projects about Cali folks while the inside feels unlike those things and feels more average or out-of-the-loop?

    So obviously he looks good on the outside i.e cool rock star guy, a depressed Kurt Cobain Ice fisherman feeling on the inside.

    I always thought it mean he's looking good (California) but there's an underlying misery to it all (Minnesota).

    Minnesota isn't even that bad. Sure it gets a little cold in the winter but for about 8 months out of the year its really nice.

    Its about the weather.

    Heard my first proper vinyl last night, Badmotorfinger, and holy fucking christ! The definition, soundquality, over all roundness and warmth was just insane, everything is so crisp and defined!
