Official DVD set of Chicago shows instead of bootlegs?

A nice compilation from both shows into one DVD. That would be fucking awesome. It doesn't seem like the CHI shows or Toronto shows are gonna be part of the 09' Official Bootleg series. Maybe something like this will be offered instead? ;)

    Seriously???

You mean, the only show I attended this tour won't be available for CD???

They better release a DVD then.. or better yet, blu-ray.

Hm. I like your thinking, though I don't see where you get the idea that they won't be part of the official bootleg series.. seems to me they haven't announced one way or another which shows would be included in the list.

I thought those were simply for the screens, as the Toronto show also had people recording. I could be wrong though!

i personally feel like we'd know by now if the 3 US shows were part of the bootleg series. i think they are gonna plan something special for those shows. seems like the band are opening up the floodgates on access to shows beyond traditional official boots.

Where is this idea that these shows won't be released coming from? I don't see why both Chicago and Toronto wouldn't be released as part of the bootlegs.

they'll release them. I'm sure I read somewhere that it'll take 2-3 weeks for them to become available.

I'd say the next DVD we see will have lots of Backspacer stuff on it.

its pretty safe to assume that the boys videotape
    every show, every night .
( maybe not for official release )

Wouldnt it be great if they could offer us an option of an official DVD Bootleg releases of each show,
similiar to the CDs they alreaedy offer.

not sure Hawk123. perhaps i'm getting a little ansy and was wondering about the part where they said they'd release particular shows in support of backspacer. since CHI and TOR weren't necessarily in support of the record, then i thought they were just some random special shows.

  • They're not going to make the bootlegs available until after the album comes out. Even though it's just a few tracks, they don't want live versions available before the real thing.

"Gone" is the only example where this has ever happened and that was only because it had just been written and the odds of it being on an album were slim.

Although they were different in the sense that they were pre-Backspacer shows, I don't see why they would be treated any differently than post-Backspacer shows. Had they debuted the whole album live at one of the shows it would be one thing, but the band have released all three of the tracks played at the Toronto/Chicago shows (The Fixer, Got Some, Supersonic) already. My guess is that in a week or two they'll come out with the bootlegs.
