IPOD Help

I have an IPOD classic and it keeps shutting down even though the battery level says full. Without the sermon about evil Apple, can anyone tell me if there is anything I can do? It's probably about 3 years old and in really good condition.
You can spend your time alone, re-digesting past regrets, oh
Or you can come to terms and realize
You're the only one who cannot forgive yourself, oh
Makes much more sense, to live in the present tense

I'm assuming you've done resets, etc.

Your battery might be cashed. It happened to mine after less than 2 years.

Do you live near an Apple store? If so, bring it to them and see if that's what they tell you. Don't let them do the replacement, though. Go to ipodjuice.com instead and buy a new battery there.

Is it simple enough to replace it myself?

  • if you're one of those people who like to tinker with stuff then yes...Personally, I like to pay the small fee and get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it for me.

Hmmmm... Mine's a 5th generation (80 GB) and it was easy. But you say yours is a Classic (6th gen) so I guess I can't really say for sure. Sorry.

So, did you send yours to IPod Juice and let them fix it? I'm hesitant to let go of my device.

I need help with my iPod. Recently my iPod has been "skipping" certain songs and artists. Oddly enough it's in the "T-W" range. i.e. it will skip 1 or 2 songs off a Tool album or a weezer album.

Also a few days ago I was copying an album from iTunes to my iPod when the iPod decided to sync and restore itself. The setting were set up so I had to manually sync songs there. So I had to start all over. Everything was going fine until i got to around the 7000-8000 song range (I have a 160gb iPod so no need to worry about space). It was copying songs then all of the sudden it starts to slow down and "crash". This happened a few times around the 7-8k song range. Any idea what is wrong? Shall I just put less than 7,000 songs on my ipod? :x

I want to know the answer to this too! Bought an iPod, and it crashed within 2 months after buying it...like making grinding noises. Apple store gave me a brand spanking new one, and it seems this one likes to randomly stop playing a song in the middle and start a different song. It's irritating! iPod classic, it's only 3% full. :x

I had a problem similar to my music stopping randomly on my Ipod Classic or it skipping. I found it had to do with the headphone jack and it was becoming loose. So I just jammed my headphones in it and it works perfectly now... Doubt it's your guys' problem but who knows!?
