Have we actually heard the final mix of "The Fixer" yet?

I just downloaded and watched a couple of things from iTunes. One is the video for "The Fixer." The other looks to be a serial video podcast called "Pearl Jam Tour TV" that appears to be done by an Australian promoter drumming up interest for the Aussie/NZ tour that is forthcoming.

I couldn't help but notice that I could hear Ament's bass MUCH better in the Fixer video and also, about one second before the PJ Tour TV video ended (as The Fixer was playing in the background) I couldn't help but notice a guitar line come in that isn't on the already released single version we've all got already. I can't really elaborate because the video ended immediately after it came in.

So my question is... Does everyone else think we've heard the final album mix of The Fixer yet, or is the single a different mix?

Has anyone else noticed any other differences?

  • I've noticed the differences in the videos as well. The 45" version sounds to me like the same thing as what's been streaming since July. I'd assume the single version is the album version but who knows?
