I just found an even GREATER appreciation
for Pearl Jam.
Long story short - I was at a concert last night for a well known, mainstream band (buddy of mine had extra tickets; I wasn't a fan of the band to begin with), the lead singer was incredibly self absorbed....dedicated several songs to his own d*ck (seriously), talked about how great he 'rocked' while on stage, constantly tipped the mike toward the crowd and said, "thank me" and wasn't satisfied until they were "really screaming it", thier light show included digital signs that prompted the audience for "applause", he addressed the crowd early on by telling all the guys in the show that all thier wives and girlfrieds wanted to quote " F him", I could go on....but, basically they stood for absolutely nothing, paraded themselves on stage in an "I'm so unbelieveably great" fashion, and really didn't even have the talent to back any of it up (it wouldn't have justified even if they did). What a disgrace....
I am so grateful that Pearl Jam means so much more than this 'Rock God' complex. I will admit I don't go to too many shows other than Pearl Jam - so this was a bit of a shock - even so, I couldn't be more proud right now. They have always been my #1 band, I have always loved them, and I have always know that they are real and genuine.....what I didn't realize is just how MUCH alot of todays other bands pale in comparison. That said....I'm ready for the Spectrum in October!!!!

I didn't really want to name the band...just highlight the differences...
Oh no...they were not joking..not even close to funny
8/7/08, 6/9/09
Seriously?
WAIT A minute - i do remember they have a song called "all the small things" - if he dedicated that to his penis, that's pretty funny.

yeah i do the same thing. at times i'm like whoa, PJ is so good to us compared to other bands.
recently....
aerosmith. i don't know why they even tour. they always cancel. i call them cancelsmith now. what a way to treat your fans by canceling all the time.
the stones are in better shape than them. lol!
then steve falls off the stage? come on.
haha, cancelsmith.
SORRY, COULDN'T RESIST.
Yeah, I doubt they were being serious. Thats how Blink has always acted on stage. It's part of their whole act to act like assholes and tell dick jokes all night.
Aerosmith....I saw them tour a few years ago with Kiss....Kiss went retro full makeup and opened for Aerosmith....Kiss was awesome....Aerosmith? We left after about 30minutes....was like watching old people drive

I doubt they could sell enough tickets to reach the 300 level.
Oh really? I had no idea...it was in really poor taste though b\c over half of thier crowd was made up of children between the ages of 10-15 with thier parents.
Yes.
and secondly, I heard it was a really bad show as well, someone couldn't stand the "in between" crap they spewing during the songs
Oh my God, at least keep the children away from that. That's pathetic.
