Complete albums played at a show

I saw in Rolling Stone a couple weeks ago that Bruce is going to be (or already has, not sure) playing 'Born to Run' in it's entirety in Chicago this year, and the Pixies are going to be playing one of their older albums at a concert also.

What would you all think of Pearl Jam doing this with one of their old albums? How sick would it be if they announce at the beginning of the show that they will be playing 'Vs.' or 'Vitalogy' in it's entirety?

I think this would be a great idea for the Philly shows!

I would guess Seattle gets Backspacer in its entirety this year
  • It would be a little weird to have Hey Foxymophandle played.

But otherwise, I'd kill to hear all of Vitalogy... Tremor Christ, Nothingman, and Immorality all in the same night. Damn!

Yes, there are a few weird add-ins on Vitalogy. 'Pry, To' would be strange too, but I've always dug the groove of 'Aye Davanita.' That would be cool to hear.

That is where PJ is different than almost every other band out there. I could see them doing this (they did play S/T in its entirety in order at one of the Italy shows in 2006) but they wouldn't announce it, they would just do it.

I think that Yield would be the best for this, but Ten and vs (without foxy mop) would work very well too ...

I thought the 03 Holmdel show was pretty cool when they played a couple songs from each album in order to make up the main set...

Ten, then Vs then Vit, etc...

pj played all of avocado in it's entirety in torino, italy in 2006. it was kinda cool, but then, you also knew what every next song would be until they were done with the album. i far prefer they mix it up myself.

    now THAT was awesome!
opening with wash - woohoo! and then 2 songs off each album, in order, cool. you didn't know what songs they were to play, but playing 2 from each was a cool thing to do. was my first tour and my 4th show....and got 11th row seats too!

so kinda cool, i was at holmdel and also torino for their two album experiments...i definitely prefer the holmdel method. what can i say, i like a wee bit of surprise. ;)

They also did a show in 2003 similar to the posted one, except the main set had one song from each album from Ten-Riot Act, and then back again.

    Opener
    Ten
    Vs
    Vitalogy
    NC
    Yield
    Binaural
    Riot Act
    Riot Act
    Binaural
    Yield
    NC
    Vit
    VS
    Ten

Cant remember or find what show it was. It was a great setlist

edit: Just looked it up, it was Torino 2006. They played the whole thing in order during the first set

cool they played em in order, but overall, i think the audience was pretty well guaranteed to hear all the songs off ten. :P

They should do a show of only 1990's material, through Yield..give it a theme show name..from ten to yield show...that would be interesting to see how that would sell

But would love VS in its entirety , they could do that, plus they play all of those songs, pretty much

my husband would be right there with you on that wish. vs., is by far his most fave pj album.

i would actually love to hear no code, not necessarily in order, but the full album. yea. especially i'm open, and i mean the tune in it's entirety, including the spoken word part. 2x i have *heard* the song live, but it just doesn't count to me, as no spoken word. :(
