arent most all recordings now sourced from digital recordings? even our beloved vinyls? not many people record analogue anymore.

Not many, but plenty. PJ recorded to tape at least through Riot Act, if I'm not mistaken

Tool, Chili Peppers, anything with Jack White's name, Ben Harper has, Black Crowes

pretty sure that tool has only recorded tape up to aenima, everything eles since has been digital. wasnt icky thump recorded digital? the cd version was a super shitty mix to boot but the vinyl has a better mix that kind of saved the recording. wasnt sure about the recording though. i do know the stripes went all out with vintage gear for elephant so maybe they stuck with the process? oh and are you sure about the dead weather? horehound sounds like absolute rubbage but again could just be due to the mixing.

None of my records make the popping/static sound..I don't think I used the right words to describe the sound of the vinyl..I just love the sound of the vinyl records..I have been spinning the fixer single all weekend...Can't get enough of the track supersonic..
