you been reading my posts?
This question, your main question, is the reason why I have been sort of questioning religion.
Alot of relgious folks seem to believe that their life on earth, their natural life, should be spent worrying about not sinning and being a good person in order to get into heaven.
My question reguarding that is, "what if this is all there is". Same question you are asking,
The way many religious people live their lives seems to me to be not wise. All we have is now. This moment. The now.0 -
i dont understand the whole mentality, of "lets bet, or wager, and hope that maybe when we die we get to go to heaven".
I mean, would I love, when I die, to be reunited with loved ones, friends, pets and others who died before me, and to get to spend eternity with them? Sure.
But we have no idea if that is what really happens.
If it does, that would be wonderful. But to spend your entire mortal life so sure of that fact, and worrying about what god thinks of you and if you are a good person, seems kind of like the biggest wager or bet anyone has ever made0 -
I was at a very catholic funeral yesterday and as an atheist observer...I realized something. It is too hard for people to put their loved ones in the ground, cover them with dirt and walk away...they need to think that there is something else out there for them . I do not share this belief...but, I think that it is something that some people need in order to let go of pain and guilt.
If I knew where it was I would take you there. There's much more than this0 -

No, I am not familiar with your post. Personally, I'm not very religious..I believe as long as people live and try to do their best, all is well..and all will work out..'I want to hurry home to you

now is all we got, can't count on tomorrow.
one can just hope things get better, and try to appreciate the light despite the darkness that surrounds you. at least that's what i've been telling myself.0 -
