I'm going through total PJ withdrawal! I call it "post PJ depression"- for real!
I'm trying to figure out what that beautiful song was -before the intro tune- right before PJ came onstage- both nights it was played before the intro piano tune- so if anyone knows the song- it would be much help- I'm trying to compose a "PJ summer '09" playlist on the ipod- it seemed to be some chick/folk song sort of song with lyrics of "say" or "stay" in it.
Also, is it possible to buy the intro piano tune before PJ comes on stage? I wish that was possible- the "dot symbol" from Yield was played right before they came onstage during their Yield tour.

And on a last note- PLEASE PJ produce a dvd of the Chicago shows- at least I'm hoping for it- just like Immagine in Cornice- that would be the best thing ever (as well as Vedder writing his autobiography someday).
Love to the Pearl Jammers out there trying to get over the highs of the Chicago shows!

  • I hear ya on the withdrawals. Two shows are the best one, two punch of live music I've ever seen. The emotions of night one and the setlist night two, can't wait for the bootlegs.

The intro piano tune is called Metamophisis II, I think I've seen this discussed before, but I could be wrong cause I can't find anything on it through search engine.

The song before was quite beautiful, but I've no idea on who it is. Sure someone will though.

    Cheers!

The 23rd of August marked the greatest Pearl Jam concert I have been to in over a decade. I know Eddie stopped drinking for a while, which is great for him, but I can see that he obviously picked it back up. It just seemed to me that their hole vibe felt as old school as their tour in 93! Just the love of their music and rock n' roll. THEY WERE SOOOO GOOOOD! Anyone going to Philly? Do you think they will add any more east coast shows?

Thanks for the info- I am on the edge of my seat as well for the bootlegs as well- hopefully someone will know that song- I've gone in a circle googling and searching on different sites.....ugh!
Good thing a lot of us can "feel the pain" together coming down from the highs of the shows this weekend!

    "cheers" as you'd say:-)

It was a great couple of nights! I wish I could go to a PJ concert every night. Hopefully theyll be back in the midwest in 2010. But now back to the reality of the daily grind.

I started to get all sad last night, then I remembered, seattle will be here soon enough, and there will be more new songs played!

Definitely going through some serious withdrawls too. It's pretty tough for me to listen to Long Road or Hard to Imagine right now without getting the same anticipation/excitement/pure joy that I felt for the openers on both nights. If there was only a way I could follow the tour AND keep my job.....
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

I know! I get super emotional and thrilled at the same time when I hear Long Road and Hard to Imagine.....If it weren't for my 2 little ones and responsibilities- I'd join in some of those folk who are lucky enough to travel CA AND PA- lucky ducks!

I'm trying a new thread to see about that pre-song- I have tried any free time to google and youtube....thanks for the Metamorphosis II- that was correct! :D I was thinking the presong is by Fine Frenzy or Sara Barielles, but maybe not. It had lyrics like "sad" or "stay" in it. Anyways, thanks for the reply :P
  • Cordurology helped me out- song before Metamorphosis II was Carly Comando.

Still trying to get back to the normal life- I always seem to have "Love Reign O'er Me" in my head and I still can't listen to that song without wanting to be back in that moment in Chicago....
