If an exclusive deal with Target...

If an exclusive deal with Target is what is happening, how about the idiots that handle this from the Target end let their stupid employees know about the deal. I called three different targets today, went to one other and got pretty much laughed at, and NONE of these fools know about the exclusive deal, nor do they have the 7", WHICH I WANT BADLY, but I'm not willing to pay more for shipping and handling than the actual vinyl. Oh, and I live in probably the most boring part of the country, so there aren't any good record stores around here. I live in Northeastern Ohio, for those of you who may be able to sympathize with this boring part of the state. Oh well, i suppose I'm just ranting here.n 8-)

    yeah, well, i didnt buy one in the store because of the stupid price and upc code tags that are stuck directly to the sleeve because they're not wrapped.

    Back in 2004 I worked at the local Target and I was the guy who put out the new cds/dvds. If they are still doing things the way they did back then, there will be a list of new titles with their release dates and on the night before or early the day of the release the Music, Movies and Books specialist will redo the palogram according to the new layout. If you called Target to ask about Backspacer and didn't speak to the Music, Movies and Books specialist or the Electronics team lead then you wouldn't be able to get any answers (not many Target employees get information about new releases).

    One "bad" habit of the overnight crew was that they would stock the shelves with cds/dvds that weren't out yet and since this album comes out on a Sunday, I wouldn't be surprised to see some copies get out on the shelf Friday/Saturday. Also, you could just try asking the person in the Electronics department for the album, they might give it to you!! I worked with a lot of people who just didn't know that cds/dvds have a release date would give things out if asked.
