I'd really like hear Long Road on 10/30. Besides being one of my favorite songs, it has special meaning to my wife and I. She also had some of the lyrics engraved inside my wedding ring.

To top it off, I haven't heard it in the last 50 shows I've been to, and my wife will be with me on 10/30.

I really hope they play it during the Friday show!!!

    WASH!

It's my birthday, I've never heard it in concert and it's my favourite song.

Nothing against Wash, but it was played in '05 and '06. Long Road hasn't been played in Philly /Camden since '98 and Oceans hasn't been played in these parts in 17 years... Hopefully, both will be played over the four nights, and Long Road, specifically, on Friday.

it's largely due to eddie that i liked to jump off of things as a child...
  • The shows I have attended the fast openers usually mean a quick 1st set.

    I'll take a slow one for 10/27:

    Can't Keep
    Sometimes
    Hard to Imagine

Release. Because 10/30 and 10/31 will be my 11th and 12th shows and I have yet to hear Release.

No love here. I am not feeling Supersonic at all ... at least not yet.

However, opening a show with The Fixer would be STELLAR.

11 years ago today (8/29/98) was the last time Long Road was played in the Philly/Camden area. It would be really nice to finally hear this song again. If it were the Friday show, it would be like extra cherries on the banana split sundae!

I know there's a bunch of people who would love to hear Oceans over the four night stand too. Oceans hasn't been played in about 17 years near Philly, so hopefully, both will be played!

Some songs I think would be great for openers, but they rarely do them are:

    You Are
    Nothing As It Seems
    Inside Job
    All Those Yesterdays

They are playing 4 shows in Philly, maybe one will pop up there.

I do agree with one of the other members, Release is a great opener! I saw them open with that in Chicago May 2006.

Abso.fukin.lutey agree - they opened with this in Buffalo 96 and haven't heard it live since - it was superb. Four Philly openers should be, in order of shows...1. Release 2. Cant Keep 3. Oceans 4. Hard to Imagine

Right on! I like your list of openers, but I would switch HTI with another rare one... "sometimes". HTI was played at Wachovia in 2005. I have heard Sometimes, but only once. I'd love to have Oceans open the 4th show, but I will be really stressing about it if I haven't heard it by night 4. I'd much rather get Oceans on the first night!

    P.S. Can't keep is a GREAT Opener!

Fair enough, but I've never seen them in Philly and have never seen them play it live... it's my birthday ;)

    Release = awesome setlist.

Philly has heard these as openers,
    Hard to Image
    Wash
    Wasterd Reprise/Life Wasted
    Somtimes
    Of the girl
    Severed Hand
    Crazy Mary
    Present Tense (AC)
    Love Boat Captain (Reading)
    as openers....

Release or Long Road (was played at Borgata, AC in '05).

Actually, any song as long as it's a slow one.
  • it seems PJ open most if not all of there shows with slower more mellow songs, think it would be a nice change to come out cranking with a more faster song

open with supersonic, a quick hello philly and go right into rearviewmirror or corduroy

Someone posted a nice story about wanting to hear Long Road on 10/30. Something about not hearing it in the past 50 shows and lyrics being in his wedding ring. That sounds like a good reason for it to be played on 10/30. I think the guy said his wife would be at the one particular show too.

Maybe as a second song. If they open with it, we lose out on a traditional opener.
