as far as the show is concerned, behind the stage isnt bad.
it is better than being at the very other end.
however you are behind the stage and this isnt U2 with a rotating stage so visability can be limited.
as well, when Ed talks it is more difficult than normal to understand what he's saying....other than that.,....if you are close, you're close. period, right?!?!? :D

Saw them in Vancouver '03 behind the stage. It was an awesome experience. The view of the throbbing crowd in front of you is amazing. The sound was very good. You also have a great view of Matt. And, if you're lucky, and we were, they will play at least one song facing the crowd behind the stage. If the crowd is good, all the energy is still there no matter where you sit. Enjoy the experience. It all what you make of it :D

you can see the whole arena! its like a band's eye view. i cant speak for recently but ive never had an issue with obstruction. but their on stage rig (the wave backdrop) is a newer thing and i havent seen a show behind the stage since they got it.

and dont believe what people say the sound is fine from back there. they have speaker columns hanging from the rafters facing the back and it sounds just as good as anyother location.

the only show in philly i didnt use / get fanclub seats with are in sec 221
directly behind the stage , at Philly 3 .
I only was concerned with getting into the show and was totally bummed when i saw this .

thankfully i know PJ has an open stage setup so i'll be looking at thier backsides for most of the show
( cept Last Kiss of course )
at least i'll get to watch matt go fucking off.
i hear the acoustrics at spectrumn are legendary , so not only visuals become a concern back there, but i hope i'll be able to appreciate the acoustics in the old building.

  • we stand behind the stage all the time- view has never been ubstructed, sound kicks ass cause you have speakers right in front of you..never had a problem understanding eddie unless he was drunk. best view of drums period.
  • thanks everyone...im just working on getting tickets to 10/30 and 10/31 so i was just curious how it was behind the stage..ive never sat back there before
  • It's alright...youll still have a good time. I was in the nosebleeds behind the state at msg 1 08'...sound was fine but it felt a little too distant for my liking.

They didn't use the seating behind the stage in Chicago. There's a back drop now, so if you have seats there, they're gonna be pretty crappy.
  • if that put people behind the stage, i imagine the backdrop will not be utilized for that show

Sat there night 1 of Chicago, not bad, thats all I have to say. Youre pretty close to the band and its cool watching them from behind, even though Id much rather be watching them while theyre facing me.
