Does anyone know how to contact Ed's manager/organizer?

Hey everyone,

I'm trying to organize an interview with Eddie on the night of the Santa Barbara show. I am wondering if anyone would know the right people to contact in order to potentially set this up.

I have written Vanderberg Communications, which I believe is the spokesperson/organization for Pearl Jam, but have not gotten a response as of yet.

I am a graduate student at UC-Santa Barbara and would like to interview Eddie for KCSB radio (91.9 in Santa Barbara), a student-run independent college radio station at UC-Santa Barbara. More information on KCSB can be found here: http://www.kcsb.org/. KCSB is a student-run, community-funded outlet that specializes in delivering independent news and music to the Santa Barbara community.

Very best,

Andrew Lee

p.s. If anyone has any info, can you please PM me or post here?

If you know anything about Vedder it's as Sean Penn said, "we're always suprised that Ed hasn't gone into the wild yet." Essentially Ed does not do interviews. Good luck

    yeah.
but i bet "student run college radio" would have the best chance out of anyone of getting his attention.

    We'll see.

I think it would actualy be cool for him to do.
"Independent news and music" is their specialty? Fuck yeah.

Only a rich jaded rock star would deny a cool college DJ a chance to interview him.

    ;)

    PS.
Maybe submit a few of the questions you think you want to ask when you send that email off to NV.
That might help solidify your claim that it is worthwhile.
    I think it is, anyhow.
If I was to smile and I held out my hand
If I opened it now would you not understand?

I will say that there is probably no way that he could do all the requests for interviews and from every review I've read he isn't inverviewed by any of them. This is a low key sort of tour. Good luck, but it just seems that Ed wants to go out, play and let the music talk. Just seems to be the way he operates these days after the insanity of the early 1990's. And when you look around at the casualites of Cobain and Staley it is ever more apparent that Ed goes hermit-like for survival.
Good luck, but that's what I would offer as a consolation to someone who feels shutout by a "rock star".

I think it's kind of exaggerated how much he doesn't like/doesn't do interviews, especially recently. I've heard many interviews he's done in the last few years. So it's definitely worth a shot if you can contact someone.

Thanks everyone. I hope to hear back from Vanderberg, but I understand your points...it might be a long shot.

i'd say that there is also no way that they can play every rock radio station's festival they get asked to do, but isn't that exactly how they would up doing a show in vancouver a few years ago?** odds are it won't happen, but it could....

and, as a 20 year radio veteran, i agree with the suggestion that you submit some of your questions with your request.

**edit: i think it was vancouver 00. some small place, only 1100 people, tickets only available from the radio station or something. i was doing rock radio at the time, and i asked our record company rep how the radio station got them to do it and he said "they asked"....

i PMd her the emails of both KW and TB, so no need to let the world know and have their private boxes flooded at tour time, folks.
