I had no idea they were opening Sunday night until I got to the venue. I was so stoked! I haven't seen Bad Religion for like 8 or 9 years. I was kind of surprised that they didn't get as much of a reception as I would have expected. I think that was a great combo- Bad Religion and Pearl Jam. They go together perfectly!

  • I totally agree with you. I was super excited when I found out Bad Religion was the opener. They put on a really good show I thought and you are right, Bad Religion and Pearl Jam go together great. I was hoping Ed would come out to sing on "Watch It Die" as he sings on Bad Religion's album version of that song. It would have been a nice surprise, but I loved them as an opener none the less.

You guys are lucky. I'd go as far as to say as they're the best PJ opener of all time....if I was there.

I would definitely go so far to say that! (and you don't need to have been there!)

You crazy Brits and your pluralization of band names. Bad Religion "is" 'Murican dammit! :)

Bad Religion isn't plural...yeah there are multiple people in the band, but the band is one entity. I would never say Pearl Jam were awesome...that just sounds...wrong. Now the exception might be if it's a band name that's plural in itself, like The Something or Others (hey I just made that up and it's kind of a cool band name) anyway, then I might say "were": The Veils were awesome. Bad Religion was awesome.

And yeah, the sound quality was not good. In fact, I didn't think the sound quality for PJ was up to par that night either, even for an arena.

I liked a couple of their songs, I liked on in particular but can't find setlists anywhere.

Can anyone post some of the songs they played so I can listen to them and find it?

As I was pointing out, it's a cultural thing. In the UK bands are pluralized, here they're singular. "Correcting" you to the UK way was a bit much, though. Kinda like when they say "Quit whinging!" and some American corrects their spelling to "whining." Or saying someone is misspelling "colour" or "flavour."

Of course it sounds wrong to you. You hear it the other way all the time. It doesn't sound wrong to us. To me, using the word "religion" with the verb "were" sounds wrong. "My religion growing up were protestant." See. Things would be a lot simpler in this world if people could step outside their own points of view every now and then.

Wow, I really blew that out of proportion! :)
