Is it me or does the band seem to be getting better

With Age!!

I've seen the band 12 times now and the London shows kicked my ass. So much energy around the place.

    Definitely. I think Ed's voice is sounding really impressive too at the moment. When they started with Release, his voice sounded unbelievable - pretty remarkable when you think he's been going at it full pelt for twenty years or so now.

    Agree. Everytime I see them they get better.

    I was thinking about this after the Toronto show. I cant tell if they are getting better, or if I just appreciate them more each and every time I see them.

    It's a combination of both. The energy/positivity seems much higher than it has before.

    There is no pressure for the band to do anything so they are having so much fun. I've only seen them since 2006 so i can't really properly tell if they are getting better, but always just seemed great to me.

    It seems they are definitely enjoying being on stage all together.
    To be honest, I was kind of worried Eddie would have lost his voice over the years but it's not the case at all. His voice was incredible during the two UK shows I attended. It has changed for sure but he now has more variations when he sings. I still think he should quit smoking but hey, he's old enough to decide ;)

    I definitely think they're getting better. It seems like they continue to get more energetic, happy and tight-sounding every time I hear them.

    They are. These two Chicago shows (more on that later) were phenominal. This isn't the same band from 2003. The energy level is amazing. They are much tighter now and God forbid they are having FUN up there. You can see it in their faces. These are good times.

    Hell, I thought they were pretty good in 2003. Maybe my favorite tour.

    As my Friend says, it's the Sampson theory..the longer Ed's hair is, the better they are :)

    seriously though i've seen 5 different tours since 96 and they are definitely getting better..this tours the best i've ever ever seen them play.

    very proud of our boys.

    if you have ever played anything you usually keep getting better.... but i agree they turned a corner since the ticketlessmaster tour.... and have been going up since as a group

    Nope, not just you. I noticed in 2008 that Mike McCready's solos were the absolute best they have ever been. Saw them Sunday night in Chicago and it seems to be a continuing trend!

    I agree with everyone... they're getting better and better... I'm appreciating them more and more (and I didn't think that was possible). Toronto was epic, I can't wait for SF and Philly and I just booked to go to Seattle! It's going to be an awesome couple of months... can't wait, bring it on :D
