I know there's a huge thread on it but...

i just saw the official video for The Fixer...i didn't read that huge thread so i apologize for repetition in advanced...
Here's my take on it...
I LOVE IT! perfectly captures the atmosphere of a real live PJ concert...i love the camera work the zooming in on faces and instruments...i love the guerrilla technique, i've always been a fan of it. (though it is over used way too often, i.e. Cloverfield) video in the background kinda threw me off but after a bit into the video i really fell in love with the idea. As an aspiring filmmaker hobbyist it was a joy to watch...fan of the band or not, fan of the song or not, this is a classic video and will go down in PJ history. love it. Cameron Crowe is pure genious right here i love his eye...hope the PJ movie thingy is just as good and even better!

Didn't love it. Made the Cloverfield joke originally.
The images are really sharp, and I think the style they chose fits the video well.
It just wasn't to my taste. I prefer to savor and soak in an image, not be bombarded with it.
I think it is probably a good fit for a younger audience. Hope the populous likes it.
Just not my cub of tea. Glad you liked it as well.
EDIT: would disagree about a live show. I think they tried too hard to make it feel like the excitement of a concert. I love to breathe in the music and heavyness of a live concert. I don't think they achieved that with this video.
"Unfortunately, despite the A-list director, the video is somewhat underwhelming. It immediately reminded us of MTV’s infamous ADHD-friendly guideline of staying on a single shot for no longer than three seconds at a time. It became a trademark of mainstream, lowest-common-denominator production, and it’s a weird way to watch a band like Pearl Jam."

yeah... pretty close to how I feel.
I was pretty surprised about the last thread. I was expecting people to agree with me about disliking it. Didn't get too much of that.
So I assumed I was relatively alone with my opinion. (Hadn't seen the Firecloud post at that time)
Anyway, take a look at that other thread. People seemed to like it more than I did anyway.

Hell this thread died three days ago with only 23 posts. I realize a lot of people are traveling, but this video is simply not inspiring conversation good or bad.
That is the most surprising thing. IMO.
EDIT: Found it.
...i liked that it was free...
but seriously it wasn't THAT bad. I just feel like the crowd was way too fake (especially the crowd noises). The whole thing just seemed a bit too forced on the guys in the band. It doesn't really fit their style; this style video would be better fit for fall out boy or something (for the record, I like fall out boy)

Dude, as a Pearl Jam fan established in 1990, you should know how ridiculous of a statement that is.

Who are these guys? Still keeping fingers crossed for the record...trying to stay positive.
