4 shows, 5 nights, LUCKY PHILLY
Just wondering how philly gets 4 shows in 5 nights? Have they ever done that many shows in one city?
I'm just very jealous and hope the come back to canada for more shows than two! Have not seen them since 05
and did not' get tix for last week's show in toronto, a show that featured the guys doing the opening set because
the opening band was stuck in customs......

No, in all honesty I think they did it that way for 2 reasons:
1. Its not too far away from: NYC, DC, Boston and Baltimore...thats a whole lot of PJ fans.
2. The Spectrum is being demolished!
GADZOOKS!!!!!!!!!!
The Philly shows would sort of count as a special event. The closing of that arena.
I think we are also seeing the band take advantage of one of the more unique features of it's fan base. (In a good way). The fan base travels for shows, so Pearl Jam is able to stage four shows in Philly around halloween with the knowledge that fans from the entire region will travel to these 'special' shows.
Not having any other North East shows scheduled until 2010 will assure that they can sell out these four shows.
The LA shows are a bit different. They booked a really sweet amphitheater with great sound, that only holds 6000 people. These 4 intimate shows will be special, and take the place of two larger shows that the city would normally of had.
I think we will get a normal type tour in 2010, and then they will then utilize the destination city here and there in the future.
