no. they had the wave backdrop but it doesnt extend very high. There was an added giant black curtain that blocked the empty seats. i dont think the wave would obstruct anything in philly
your view is Never obstructed when they sell behind the stage. besides the front rows and sides, these are the best and closest seats in the house- Best sound wise (speakers right in front of you) and the Best view of the drums, period.
NOPE. I was sitting third row, second side elevated section (122) over on the the right (Stone's side). I could see all the empty seats behind the stage. The ticketed seats seemed to stop dead even with the side sight line of the stage.

definitely disagree on the sound, as the sound is directed far more to the front of the stage than the back. that said, i sat 2nd row dead center behind the stage at boston II 2004 and it was an awesome experience! what an amazing vantage point to see the band in a new way....and even to see the audience from the band's perspective...amazing! it was FAR better than being waaaaaayyyyyyyyy back of the arena, when the band members look like dots. also scored matt's setlist, first/only time to ever get one...so pretty cool.
I have done behind the stage for 2 U2 shows (Elevation Tour) and one PJ show (MSG 1998).
To each his own, but sitting behind the stage stinks. You just don't get the same vibe from the show. Also, the Last Kiss consolation song isn't worth it either.
The stars all aligned and tonight will be my third show in four days. Yesterday I bowed at the feet of the master logged on to see if there was a late ticket release. I got a single in Section 119-though not technically behind the stage waaaayyy off to the side...a different perspective then what i am used to, but I am just happy to be able to go.
What is with all the entitlement bs on this board? Definitely not a PJ family value.
