You guys looked like you didn't care to be there. Just standing there. I was one of the Ten Clubbers in Section 303 but I was rockin!! I didn't care where my seats were. I just wanted to see them live. People just standing there and half of them texting. Ridiculous. Don't want to be there? Give the tickets to me or the other 20 people around me who were rockin out!!

are you a young fan? I can't believe this is still going on. I remember people saying this from 2003-4. THE FLOOR IS FILLED WITH STATUES. WE MUST TAKE THEIR TICKETS. I ROCK MORE THAN THEY DO. This is equivalent to a guy at a baseball game screaming for people around him to stand up and cheer like he is and then getting pissed when they don't. Theres a reason. You dont get it. Enjoy YOUR show.

My floor seats sucked. I was halfway back and you can't see much.. last tour seats up on the side were better.

However it does piss me off if people are just standing there and they are front row.

I'm not saying I rock more than anybody. I'm just surprised that people were standing there. From my point of view it looked like it sucked down there. But I guess I was wrong. And I'm not that young of a fan so I don't know what that has anything to do with what I am saying!!

This isn't Pink Floyd - if you don't want to move your ass and experience the music when it's being played, go sit off to the side and complain that they don't play Around The Bend nearly enough for your liking. They're a ROCK band, for crying out loud. Yes, people enjoy music in different ways, and no, you don't have to jump up and down to have a good time... but if you're one of those people who likes to stand stock still and take it all in, don't complain about the people who like to go crazy when the band is playing. It amazes me how many people post on this board that they don't like people bumping them at shows because they're trying to take pics, etc... YOU'RE AT A F***ING ROCK CONCERT!!!! WHAT DO YOU EXPECT??? The band is playing to entertain the crowd, not so you can get video on your phone and then rush home to post it on YouTube and become a message board hero. The front of the stage is a young man's game... well, young people and old people in denial about their age (yes, I was in high school when Ten came out, and I haven't aged a day in 19 years!)... leave the front to people who like to go nuts at a show, and leave the wings to the statues and people who want to bring their kids (note: I have no beef with people who bring their kids to concerts - get 'em started young and make sure they don't follow that dark evil path that leads to the Jonas Brothers - I just don't like it when those parents try and take their 10-year-olds as close to the stage as possible)
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

Well you cant really leave anywhere in USA shows as you got your fixed seating, and higher the number = older you are = less moving around?

    hmmm
  • I'm not into telling anyone what to do at a concert because we all expreience the music in different ways, but in toronto I was jumping up and down and singing my lungs out, and I actually felt like the people around me were pissed off that I was enjoying myself so much. I got a couple stares like I was trying to get the wave going at a funeral. I know I'm young for this fanbase (22), but c'mon guys, if eddie can climb lighting rigs in his 40's, I know you guys have it in you to move around a bit.

Who are you to say nobody gets it? If there's alotta people on the floor not gettin into it, maybe seniority needs to be rethought.

Your comparison of a PJ/baseball comparison is absurd. You need to take yourself a little less seriously. PJ is a rock band and, overall, the crowd should act accordingly.

Not everybody has to move, but I think most people naturally kinda start groovin a little at a show if they are really gettin into it. My wife loves PJ, but she just doesn't get movin too much. She's a little shy about it.

The crowd at UC was AWESEOME. I had a birdseye view and there was tons of movin and shakin all over. The fists durin Alive were hypnotizing.

A Pearl Jam concert and a baseball game are slightly different... unless you're a Yanni fan. You're expected to move at a rock concert, it's part of the experience of going. At a baseball game, the usual protocol is you sit and clap whenever something good happens. Music moves you, man... you don't drive in your car listening to the radio broadcast of a baseball game and do play-by-play with the announcer at the top of your lungs (YEEEEEAAHHHH... HOME RUN BY PUUUUJOLLSS TO LEEEEEFFFTT CEEEENNTTEERRR!!! YEEEAAAAAHHHH!!!!) But if a good song comes on, you crank that bad boy up, belt it out, and hope nobody is in the lane next to you calling the nearest insane asylum and giving them your license plate number. As someone who played in a rock band for a few years, the crowd is as much a part of the band as the guys with instruments on the stage... if the crowd is getting into it, moving around and singing (you don't need to go crazy and start a mosh pit, but let the music move you a little), it lifts you to a whole other level. If the crowd is standing still and keeping silent... fuck 'em, we're finishing the set early.
And I listen for the voice inside my head... nothing. I'll do this one myself.

theres a lot of threads on similiar matters so i apologize in advance, but it seemed like a lot of 10 clubbers were dissapointed to be on the way top of the house- 200's and 300's sections. aside from front ten rows of the floor, since they did the lottery- was a lot of the floor NOT fanclub? does anyone know or recount reading about this ?. you people with 50XXX type numbers- were you in the side stage seats? Seemed like an awful lot of mid to high range number 10 clubbers were all the way up top, and now i read the floor wasnt really rocking. i have never been to a show where this wasnt the case. i wasnt at this show- but just curious if you guys think this was the case? or was the floor all low number 10 clubbers, just not going thier usual balls out nuts participation?

I was 4th row and the people around me were really into it. I couldn't tell you if others were standing around, I was too busy watching the stage, I could not give a fuck about whether someone has thrown their arms in the air enough.

Creating threads like this is only a cheap ploy/a way to beg for better seats because you didn't get what you wanted. Do you complainers go through life never being told no? Did you not keep score at your soccer matches so there would be no losers?

BTW there was a guy directly in front of me rocking out in the third row right of stage. The so called lottery winners in the second row were whining that he was moving around too much and had security come over. So much for being allowed to get excited.

    What??? I dont get it...

I was maybe 20 -25 rows back and I HAD A FUCKING BALL!!!! Everyone around me had a FUCKING BALL!!!! And what was real fucking cool ?? Everyone in my general area(4 seats in front of me, behind me, and seats to both sides of me), introduced themselves, we all said Hi to each other, we all chatted, it was fucking great! Everyone was respectful of each others space, again, it was real nice to just sit next to some civilized human beings....hehehehehe

Whats there "Not To See"????? I could see everything just fucking fine...
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I think I'm somewhere in between standing still and throwing my arms all over, knocking peoples drinks and screaming like an idiot but if you want to stand still then stand still.
It's about the music not about dancing!!!
So don't let some spaz tell you how you have to enjoy the show.

I should add that while I'm not break dancing during the song that I usually loose my voice letting the band know I appreciate them in between songs.

espically night 1...had a great time but the floor was a bit down....even a friend of mine that seen Pearl Jam for the first time mentioned that the people on the floor were a bit out of it!

are the older members taking their low seating for granted????? as a fellow old timer I hope not! :D
