Yeah. They're amazing. Still kinda off the radar a bit, but that's a good thing. If you dig Ghosts then I highly recommend their latest offering "April". Pure ethereal magic ! Also, if you want to delve deeper into Mark Kozelek's fantastic output, then check out Red House Painters : in particular "Songs for a blue guitar". Slightly more plugged in a Neil Young electric style. Awesome.
Also, if you get a chance to check out Sun Kil Moon or Mark Kozelek live solo shows, then grab yourself a ticket and prepare to be mesmerized.
You will not be disappointed. That's for sure. I hope you, your ears, heart and soul enjoy.
I remember watching ShopGirl, the recent Steve Martin movie, and its a great film. But I think, I remember the film, not so much for the acting, or dialogue, but, that during one scene, Carry Me Ohio, is played. I got goosebumps, it was a pretty amazing use of music and film.
Anyways, there is something about his music that is beautiful. Its a feeling of loss, of longing. Of wanting something, but never having it.
I think it was the Onion of all mediums that said, Ghosts of the Great Highway, contained some of the most shockingly beautiful music ever set to tape. I think that quote is spot on.
Carry Me Ohio is stunning, but it doesnt end there. Glenn Tipton is amazing. Gentle Moon is mindblowing. As is Duk Koo Kim.
