Ok, I'm here & I know there were a lot of fan club tix sold, but section 309, really!? I know I could of gotten better tix thru a tix broker, doesn't that go against PJ philosophy? I guess I'll pull out my binoculars, I would have paid $500. Tix to be on the floor, still love you Eddie!

is the date in your posts the date you joined the club or just the date you joined the forum because that guy in chicago who got seats in section 30something has been a member since 2002, also the tenclub said that the spectrum had allocated a more than usual amount of seats for presale, hopefully they were good seats!

I heard a guy on his cell phone at the fundraiser making deals about tickets. He told someone he could "put him on the floor for $500"
A child's rhyme stuck in my head...
It said "Life is nothing but a dream."
I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.
  • Don't mean to be a whiny bitch! And the concert was awesome. Just the shock of seeing 300 section on my tix did me in. We did let our membership lapse and ended up with a 400+ number when renewed, but with only 6000 fan clubs tix sold, thought we'd get a better seat. And when the rules say can't sell or trade tix, we didn't look for other seats. I AM very honored and thrilled that we got to see an awesome show and was on the floor for the 2006 show @ the United Center. The band was on fire and the new tracks were unbelievable, but with the echo in the back of the stadium, I can't wait until the album comes out to really hear them. Wish I would have went to Monday's show! Alway's a PJ fan! And to my fellow fans in section 309 row 5, we had a great time!! Thanks for the experience! Will start posting more often, I guess my first time posting # offended some folks. :geek:

Hopefully 10C has gotten the message that while it might seem like a good idea to fill a huge arena with 10C fans, the reality is that people spend literally thousands of dollars and days of travel time to get to shows, and to get an upper level seat in the back of the arena is just wrong. The policy needs to allow people to opt out of crappy seats well before the concert. The fact that TM had seats on sale day of show that were way better just adds insult to injury. At the very least you should be allowed to turn in the tickets for a refund at the window. I mean come on, you can't even sell them under the rules. You're supposed to eat them after travelling 1000 miles?

I'm guessing this incident is really going to deter people from rolling the dice on 10C and traveling to shows. I've been going to concerts for 30 years, and after a few shows on the upper deck in big arenas, I decided it wasn't worth it. I'd rather not be there than endure that. I passed on the Stones, Aerosmith and several other bands because I didn't want to waste my time with seats like that, and those were local concerts.

And for everyone calling people 'whiners', tell me honestly that you would not have been pissed. The sound at that level in the back really, really sucked. So in addition to basically having to watch the show on a video screen, you couldn't hear it well enough to even enjoy the sound.

I'm sure it was a great concert. I wouldn't know, because what I saw and heard sucked.
    Love is deep...dig it out...

Sorry to hear that SL169704. Everything you said makes perfect sense. I'd be interested to hear the 10 Club's reason for those being your seats.

Why are there so many whiny 10club members in Chicago.

Hey, come on, there were people from all over the country that came to this show. It's not just Chicago 10c members that are whining, so please don't blame us.
    Chicago 2000 : Chicago 2003 : Chicago 2006 : Summerfest 2006 : Lollapalooza 2007 : Chicago 2009 : Noblesville (Indy) 2010 : PJ20 (East Troy) 2011 : Wrigley Field 2013 : Milwaukee (Yield) 2014 : Wrigley Field 2016
  • I was in the 300's as well but have no complaints as 10C put me in the 1st row and all four seats (wife and I are members) were together.

But, our friends bailed and we ended up having 2 extras.

Before I left for Chicago, I had contact info from different 9 people from this Board in case my friends couldn't make it - every single one of them passed on the pair at face when they found out they were in section 311.

I don't blame them, but what the hell was I suppose to do know with a pair of tickets and only a couple of hours to sell them at face when ebay and craigs were selling below for better seats?

Luckily, I ran into two fine gentlemen in my hotel who were looking for two, else I'm sure I would've been stuck with them as I didn't see anybody buying tickets on the way in.

There should be a better way - maybe you could put the tickets back into a 10club only day of sale pot for people who can't make it or decide they don't like the seats. Stops 10clubbers from scalping as well.
"Hey, listen asshole, one more fucker throws a fuckin' quarter up here and we're outta here, I'm tellin' ya, FUCKER! What the fuck, you're blowin' it for fuckin' everybody. Hit me with a fuckin' quarter again and, fuck it, I'm outta here. We're all outta here. Fuck you, and if anyone sees someone throw fuckin' change right next to them, you have my permission to beat the fuckin' holy shit outta them."

I wasn't there....but, to be honest, I would have been really disappointed.

At the same time you have to take the hand you're dealt and make the best of it.

I would have been disappointed as well. The whole reason we are in the 10 club is so we get a better hand dealt to us.

  • I am one of those guys who doesnt give a fuck where I sit.....

    BUT!!!!

I have never traveled 1000 miles to a show, and then ended up in the 3rd to last row of the fucking arena..

I have always gotten great seats, side seats, floor seats.....

Had I traveled 1000 miles, paid for hotel, and then opened my ticket envelope, and realized I was in the 2nd to last row of the arena......

I might have vomited on myself........

Then I would have just dealt with it....and enjoyed the rest of my weekend....

But ill be honest....My initial reaction would have been...............

    Vomiting on myself....
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
